I’d assume that everyone except the English and Belgians will be back on Monday when we are back from the US - Brazilians, Argies and Merlin.

Yeah, I think it will be like this:

[28TH JULY BAYERN]

30th July
Ederson
Fernandinho
Gabriel Jesus
Danilo [Injured Ankle Ligaments on 5th July - 2-3 weeks in protective boot then light training]
David Silva
Nicolas Otamendi
Sergio Aguero
John Stones (said in news he'd come back early in order to be available for Chelsea)

[5TH AUGUST - CHELSEA]

6th August,
De Bruyne
Kompany
Fabian Delph
Kyle Walker
Raheem Sterling

[9TH AUGUST - TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS!]
[12TH AUGUST - ARSENAL]

I can fully understand the English and Belgian players having an extended break. But genuinely can’t understand why the others aren’t back with the squad if I’m honest. Especially when I see Bernardo Silva has come back training and players for other countries seem to be back with their clubs.

Brazil played on the 6th July. They probably left camp on the 7th. They get 3 weeks off, and tomorrow is dead on 3 weeks. So they'll be back in the next few days.
Whether Bernardo came back early or not is irrelevant. He's chosen to do so as he feels ready, and that's probably down to the fact he played 1500 minutes last season. For comparison, Otamendi and Aguero played 2800, 2900 respectively.

I reckon the players will benefit by having the extended break, mentally as well as physically. We will reap the benefits.

Gündogan also on Monday i hope.

I thought they had a couple of weeks off when the season finished before they joined up with their international teams for the World Cup. I thought they’d then get 2 more weeks after the World Cup and be back with us end of July at the latest... Looks like I’m wrong.

Fair enough mate. Just that I’ve noticed other players back, e.g Ozil (arse) while Gundogan still on his jollies. But we have to trust city to know what they are doing.

I'm getting the feeling that only certain players were asked to come back early, not only having to do with the WC, but also on the back end of last season. Bernardo hasn't played as much as he would have like to last season and he's younger so he should be fresh. Mendy is coming back from injury and has hardly had a kick. If Stones is coming back too great. He did have that injury which gave him some rest until the last part of the season. Our older players especially need not only physical but a mental break as well.

Everyone needs to calm down, its not like the players are on the piss for 2/3 weeks on the holidays coming back 2 stone overweight, these lads are professional athletes, they will have been given a personalised training programme to follow, they will be in the gym every day of their holidays. They will be raring to go. CITY
