Players supposedly unhappy

There's is bound to be a huge fall-out from a defeat like Chelsea. It is shattering for the whole club and will take a lot to recover from. It has been a very tough physical and mental challenge all season for all the players. Sadly a few of them have not really stepped up. I would expect them all to be feeling sorry for themselves. It is also likely that some will leave but that would also have happened if we won the Final. Hopefully things will calm down when people have had a well-earned rest. It's a shame so many of our team are needed for the EUROs.

Well tbf you know this about as much as Sam the lie Lee does
Know what?

I agree. The only place that place is filth. But sometimes needs must. I’ve got to say I didn’t see Sam Lee tweet anything about Rodri or Cancelo starting. I must have missed it.
There is nothing, either some fake account or a different person. Nothing on Twitter about Cancelo or Rodri starting.

Laporte looked happy scoring the winner in a cup final a few weeks ago. Feel a bit for big Rod, he has been the unsung heartbeat of our team this season, couple of errors in dead rubbers after we had won the league and he was bombed out.

Aww thank you I does me best as they say. I’m just waiting to renew my season ticket and hopefully I won’t have to move seats.
We’ll win it next time. :-)
I haven’t had any contact from the club about season tickets? Has there been an email?

Typical tribalistic bollocks in this thread. If you don’t think there’s any truth to some of these then you’re very naive. Laporte will be a goner if we get a suitable offer, that much is obvious. Sterling is clearly gonna be pissed off about the last few months. Jesus can’t get a start even when Aguero was out / on the bench unless it’s a nothing game. Rodri has been ditched in the last few weeks despite having a good season, same as Cancelo. Not sure what’s up with Bernardo but he has always struck me as a guy who would go to Barca at some point.

2 things here - Pep was right to do what he did in the big games recently, so those players have to lump it. For the first time under Pep we had a team of 11 that everyone was happy with, until he made a mockery of it in the final. But that doesn’t mean those players benched have to be happy. Of course they’re not.

The second thing is there are a variety levels of unhappiness. Being unhappy isn’t like football manager where you have to sell the player. Of those players only Laporte is guaranteed to knock on the door and demand to leave imo. Sterling and Jesus could ask to leave too but I’m sure most will give it another year.

If our players are unhappy after the season we've just had, then the rag's and dipper's squad must be on suicide watch.
Football doesn’t work like that. Ask Micah what he thinks about the 93:20 moment. Happy but massively tinged with sadness because he didn’t play. There’s a difference between being a part of something and feeling like you’ve contributed to that something.

They looked pretty happy the week before when celebrating the title win!
Exactly!
I would be more concerned if they looked happy at not being selected for the final and then watching their teammates lose the game.
Of course they’re fucking unhappy.
I would be.
But it doesn’t translate into them wanting out....

Typical Sam lee
Everything he says has a caveat
He knows nothing at all
Picks 7 players and if one leaves he’ll make out like he knows something
He is interesting to listen to but knows nothing about our transfer policy at all!!
Never gets anything right
But don’t worry guys within an hour of Kane signing he will have an article ready which gives great insight

The wheels on the bus go round and round. The cogs in the journalists brains go round and round every now and then they get jammed by tumbleweed.Pure speculation. We have this every year and whenever we buy or sell anyone the club announce it when its done. These journalists are know nothings.

Ultimately, most sportsmen are moaning bastards and are never happy. That's one of the reasons they make it to the top.

So in my opinion, yes, some of those players will be unhappy.

After a final like that it was always going to be a big opportunity for those with an agenda to create unrest from either players or blaming Pep for everything.

Drawbridge up!!..focus on what we need to do this summer and go again...starting with a trip to Wembley against Leicester.

We now know how to get to a chumps league final so why not again next season. If scouse scum can do 2 finals on the bounce, why not us?

Time to boil some piss again....

I can’t mate. A mate’s son had it in his phone in the Mac Donald’s near the ground about an hour snd a half before kick off. I felt a bit uneasy being in such an establishment but the lad wanted a burger
If it's an hour and a half before kick off then I think your mate's son might have got mixed up. On the Athletic discussion, earlier in the day, he said he said his guess was Zinchenko and Fernandinho (when we all thought the same), later he said there was a rumour of a slight change, and around the time you mention he'd already said the rumour was now Gundogan/Sterling.

So, hardly mind-blowing, but all correct.

Unhappy doubt it really. There may be one or two that see a move away best for their personal careers,I’m thinking maybe Laporte, Jesus and Sterling possibly. That’s not the same as being unhappy at City though.
I don't think the original article said lots of players were unhappy at City. It was more along the lines of a few being unhappy/disappointed that they didn't start more matches.

When it gets put through the Daily Mail grinder, and then the blue moon "no shades of grey" filter, it becomes simply "unhappy".
