Players who might improve us

I think we need to get Nicolas Jover back. He was City's set piece coach when City were good on free kicks/ corners. If I remember correctly in 2021-22 we scored 17 goals off corners and only gave 1.

Ever since he left.. we have been terrible.. granted Laporte is a big miss.

But apparently he was on 3k a week here and is on 10k a week there.. c'mon City that's peanuts.. bring him back!

Liverpools in 22/23: Fabinho, Henderson, Elliot, Thiago

They needed a midfield refresh more than we did

Mac Allister only had eyes for them apparantly, and if we signed Gravenberch many would've said "he wasn't our level"

Hard to know how these things turn out, but if you were offered Kovacic, Gravenberch or Nunes back in the summer 23 I think 1% of us would pick Gravenberch of the 3

Baéna, a new RB( whoever that is) , Kudus/Musiala and Wharton. Feel like the board has been „ chill“ too much. Midfield needed improvement even before the Rodri injury.

This is new toy syndrome. Our central midfield has KDB, Rodri, Gundo, Silva, Foden, Kova, Nunes, McAtee and potentially Stones.

It's literally the envy of the entire world.

We won't buy for the sake of it, or because of an injury. We have long term squad planning based around how Pep wants to evolve the style and we won't deviate from the thing that made us the Treble winning Fourmidables to calm some nerves.

Not seen much of Simons personally. I know you rate him and I know his data looks good. Wasn't impressed with him for Netherlands, but I wouldn't have been particularly impressed by Foden for England if it was the first time I'd paid him attention.

Simons just looked to play like Sterling for me. Not sayings that's 100% a bad thing, but the end product just seemed untidy. Finishing was a bit unreliable as passes were misplaced. As I said, it could be a national team thing.

What makes you rate him? What could he do for us?

(I don't need to ask about Musiala, I can see that one clearly!)

If pep stays he could do what he likes with the kid. Started out as a DLP at La Masia, moved into attacking mid/winger at PSV/RB. bit small, but very tidy, very technical and would compliment Foden exceptionally well if you sat him deeper in the pair (which i cant see Musiala doing tbh). A very good 8, gonna be excellent.

Was the ideal Gundo replacement for me. (would have said McAtee but Xavi far more top level time and experience now, and right footed, we've way too many lefts in the mix) but pure personal feeling. his euros wasnt great and RB might just play perfect for him. Hell probably end up at Bayern.
