Players who might improve us

He's a very special talent, certainly more than Sterling was at QPR.

Should be all over him.

Did you see a lot of Raheem Sterling before he left QPR at 15 without playing a professional game?

Given Exe didn't even join QPR until he was 18* and didn't start playing for them regularly until he was 19, I think that comparison is more than a little unfair at best?

I did actually see quite a lot of Sterling as a kid. I did a fair bit of scouting after Marwood tried to sign him before Liverpool.

So you are comparing 15 year old Sterling at QPR to 18 year old Eze? And surprised that one was better than the other?

Sorry, I'm just not really following the comparison. One never played a senior game for QPR and the other was an adult by the time he joined them.

Ferna wasn’t a defensive midfielder when we signed him. He was an outstanding box to box player with brilliant all round attributes - passing, shooting, tackling, mobility, aerial ability - and also the football intelligence, character and discipline to be moulded into playing the holding role.
So might Pep be looking at a similar profile of player to replace him rather than a current DM specialist?
If so, then one who stands out as having similar attributes to Ferna when we signed him would be Tielemans at Leicester. Likes a tackle, good energy and very good quality on the ball. He would be expensive but a miles better fit for us imo than a technically limited destroyer like Ndidi

Why do people think players like Ndidi, Bissouma or Kante can play midfield for us.

They are all poor on the ball and Pep doesn't have midfielders who are poor on the ball.
He might not be a ‘Pep player’ but Ndidi would improve us immeasurably. He’s not David Silva but he moves the ball quickly, bombs forwards, shields the defence very well and allows the more technical players to do their job. His defensive output would allow us to play 2 CAMs like we did when we were at our best.

i would get into wynaldons (sp) ribs, he would make an excellent dm for us and will be on a free, i think he will end up at barca, but imagine how angry the scousers would be if we signed him

I know this is not going to happen, but Julian Brandt would be a great signing IMO.

Available for €25m apparently, Arsenal interested.

I think he's a really clever player, the kind Pep would love and would be a much closer fit to Silva as a number 8 than Phil or Gundo.

Wasn't he a hot commodity a few years back? What's happened that he's available for €25m?
