I might be coming across harshly here but I really wasn't impressed with him too much; Sterling gave him all kinds of problems. Given how defensive they were I'm not sure that's a good look.Maybe we were wrong to let Denayer go...?

Except derby day.And if I recall correctly, he was filmed kicking a man in the head in a street fight. Not sure he is the kind of guy rhe club wants playing here.
It has little bro do with aggression. Dihno has been a great player for the club. But he is no leader. Just an elder. That too applies to Dave.i don’t agree. We already have loads of players like the ones mentioned above - felix, havertz. Signing the same type of players isn’t going to change anything.
we need leaders, players who have a bit of aggression and bite to them. Even getting rid of fern means losing another one
I personally think you've cracked it with your first sentence. I'd extend the point though to much of the season, and not just Lyon. Our biggest problem this season was the defence we never felt solid enough i think that was the reason why Pep sacrifice our style to a more conservative approach against Lyon, we always tend to commit simple mistakes that leads us to failure and that is what separate us from a CL semi final , if we play like we normally do we can easily create 20 + chances per match wich is enough to any player to score , i think Koulibaly might improve us a lot he might bring that defensive leadership that we miss at the bigger moments.
I do rate him as a defender but I think he's a bit of a mismatch for us. If he was strong with the ball at the feet he'd actually be perfect at playing our high line too I reckon.Diop from West Ham is apparently available, don't remember him standing out against us in particular. Seems to have the physical attributes we are looking for though, already used to the prem and him being in a poor team/defence shouldn't hinder a move (Ake).
