Nico Paz really does look like a sensational talent. Spurs even made a late move for him at the end of the window, but you get the sense Madrid see him as a long-term project and will integrate him into their first team in the next few seasons. It’s no surprise big clubs are circling already - he has that mix of technical elegance and game intelligence you rarely see at his age. Almost like Cole Palmer.
Onto Leroy Sane, he was brilliant. For a period, he looked like a genuine world beater in the making under Pep. He had that blistering pace, devastating one-on-one ability, and that left foot could just cut defences apart. He was a joy to watch and could decide a game when he wanted. There was a stretch under Pep where it felt inevitable he’d grow into one of the very best wide forwards in Europe. His ceiling looked enormous, and he had that fearless edge that made him unplayable at times. I always felt when Bayern came calling, he lost that hunger that Pep had drilled into him. I always remember going to the Arsenal away game in the snow, 3-4 days after the carabao cup final. Sane was absolutely unbelievable that day, as were the whole team. I was watching Football from another planet that night. Still to this day, I haven't watched another club play that level of football in this country. Liquid Football.
