Players who never

Danny Cadamarteri
Franny Jeffers
Gael Clichy
Richard Wright
Bojan(he may still do it but when he broke through i thought he was amazing)
Dean Marney
Kevin Hofland

Just a few but theres so many

Gio Dos Santos has been wasted by Spurs, in particular Redknapp.

He's a quality player and they've just got him sat in their reserves. He needs to move to save his career.

Oh dear, the lad's only 20 i believe. Give him a little more time before he makes this list. It's hard as a 20 year old to break into the side as a starter over the likes of leo messi and david villa.

Lee Croft and Bradley Wright-Phillips, both of these had potential to be far better than where they are now.
Gelson Fernandes? Wasn't he meant to be the next Patrick Vieira?

There was that Manucho United signed, I remember a United fan I knew was absolutely buzzing about him when he signed. Three years, one United appearance, a not too successful loan spell at Hull later and he's been packed off and been talked about in the press since. Samaras was another who was tipped to be playing for one of Europe's top clubs in the CL.

Nery Castillo? High hopes for him at one stage, thought he'd be playing in the Champions League, now it appears Shakthar Dontesk are desperate to get rid of him.

Alexei Smertin, signed by Chelsea, think he had a spell at Fulham as well.
Would it be ridiculous to suggest Kieron Dyer as another? Although injuries haven't helped.

Mark Gonzalez, a Chilean winger who Liverpool signed a few years back. Jermaine Pennant? Basically he's a good player in a mid table side.

David Nugent? Really stuggled in the Prem after lots of promise in the Championship? Michael Ricketts?

That's more like it Motty. Let's really rack our brains.

Emmanuel Ammunike; Dazzled me in the world cup. He did a two footed feint/dribble at full pelt. I think he never got out of the Spanish second division.

Michael Tonge. An outstanding talent in the Championship, he showed top class technique and good vision. 260 appearances for Sheffield Utd, he was a major factor in their promotion season. Then went to Stoke for 2.5m. 30 appearances in three years, including three loan spells at different clubs. Recalled by Pulis this winter. Not been seen in public since.

I took an instant liking to 18 year old Julian Joachim after I saw him lift the ball over a defender's head in a cup tie. By 21, he had 25 goals in his first 100 appearances, pretty darned good for a winger. Moved to Villa. Ended up at King's Lynn (via Leeds, Coventry, Darlington and Boston)

Apparently his big achilles heel was that he was a big gambler. It can be as destructive as any other addiction.

Luke Moore. Being called a star after his goal against us. Only gone downhill since then though.

Might be back in the Prem next season though. Will never be an England player though, like as being touted.

When I clicked on this the first player to come in my head was...

Theo Walcott.

Remember the hype about us signing that defender from West brom called Davies for 5mil thank fuck that never happened!

Paul Moulden, never really made the transition to first team football,if he'd shown half of his form in youth and reserve teams,he would have been a legend.
Jeffers is a good call,England international reduced to playing for a poor team in a poor league in Australia.
Michael Bridge looked the goods at Leeds ended up in Australia too.
Lee Sharpe, first player I knew of that chucked his career away with drugs, one of the few players of theirs I coveted.
One out of the archives,Alun Evans went to Liverpool from Wolves for big money and did bugger all, after being potted in a pub.

Denilson. Sao Paulo to Real Betis for a record £27 million. Lit up the world cup then did sod all when he moved.

Just thought of another, Michael Ricketts he was at Bolton and even got 1 England cap then worked his way down the leagues, last year his contract was mutually terminated with Tranmere i think, and January this year he was charged with assaulting his wife.

Cant believe nobody has said Denilson. He was unbelievable at Sao Paolo became the most expensive player in Football History before the 98 WC and then blew up completly

Also this is very controversial and he still has a great career but Del Piero and his knee injury back in 99 stopped him IMO becoming one of the true greats, never the same after the knee injury
