Played with him at Reddish vale school, he was quite good, but never thought he would turn pro....he was a post man too. I thought a lad called Andy Fairclough would make it, he was a goal machine at vale, he played for crewe as a junior but nothing came of it in the end. Ive played against Andy Holt in a cup final who went onto play for Oldham Athlectic and Hull City.

I went to Reddish Vale, too - Yeo was a year or 2 above me (I left in '91). I don't remember him being a stand-out player.
Was Andy Fairclough quite small, blond hair? If I'm thinking of the right person, his dad was manager of one of the Reddish Vulcans teams ?

No Andy was dark haired, striker for the school team with nicky small, john benson, gary and wayne leeson, gary herbert ivan skoric (pan head) and stuart flynn hope this helps. I played for vulcans, st marys, 7th reddish.

Darren Lyons, ex bury, Macclesfield and now assistant manager fc utd
===========

Same as... see my post. Which Club?

Not at any club with him, just grew up with him, so kick abouts on the fields stuff like that...

Ahh... Good lad Darren, good player as well. Played with him at Royton about 84-84... South East Lancashire League

Yeah he is, still see him around every so often and have a chat with him...

Played in the same school team as James Poole; was part of the Youth Cup winning team a few years ago and recently left Hartlepool. He was always head and shoulders above the rest of us, I always expected him to do a little better.. Cracking lad as well, still speak to him today.

Lee Duxbury who went on and had decent career at Bradford, Huddersfield and Oldham. He played for Bradford against us in 89 in the promotion game and scored at Maine Road in 99 when the latics beat us 2-1. Never thought he'd make the grade though so fair play to him. Also played against Noel Brotherston in a charity match and couldn't get near him. He dropped dead the week after so I guess that's the effect I have on people!!

Darren Lyons, ex bury, Macclesfield and now assistant manager fc utd, also Paul scholes but he was about 11 at the time we was all about 18 little ginger twat used to run rings round us...

Is he a City fan as I'm sure I read somewhere he is.

Used to have a kickabout with Mark Robins and all the other local kids on the school fields. Although he wasn't allowed to join in often as most of the time he was getting 1 to 1 coaching off his dad whilst we just messed around!!

There was an Oldham player called Mike Cecere in the early 90's who was lodging at my mates mum and dads. He used to knock about with us from time to time and also join in our kickabouts sometimes. He was outstanding. Often used to think if he is that good how good are the top players

I always thought he was when I played with him... sure he'll say not now though...

Wes Orange for Fletcher Moss Rangers back in the day.
Yep same although I was on the opposing team. Used to play against Fletcher Moss regularly, they all seemed to be on the books at City and Rags.
