Playing Queen's "We are the Champions"

I don’t really like all the generic celebration songs that we as a fanbase have no affinity with. What made Sunday’s celebration medley quite bizarre was the playing of a plethora of songs with the word “three” in the lyrics. This criterion then morphed into any songs featuring “free” in the title.

I wish the PA system was turned off at full time and happy fans were left to sing their own songs.

As soon as the concierge opened the lift doors at level 3 on Sunday I was confronted with something I hoped I would never have to endure at City.
The god awful dirge that is Queens 'we are the champion's was blasting through the stadium pa.
I mean, which lazy added musically challenged Muppet thought of that?
Then the Twat played it again, twice. I went halfway down a spiral to get away from it at half time but to no avail. Luckily my pint an schmoke eased my pain.
Of all the tunes that coulv have been played that should be been at the bottom of a very big pile.
Ruined it for me. Bastards.
As soon as I hear it, I have flashbacks to rags dominance in the 90s, what next you never walk alone before the CL final!

The 2011 FA Cuo celebration party at the Etihad was kicked off by Badly Drawn Boy singing the Smiths classic Please Please Please. That just felt a lot more City - a bit cooler a bit more introspective.

Certainly better than trying to impose a sort of enforced jollity on everyone by pumping out Status Quo at an ear splitting volume

Hopefully we won't win it next year then this won't be an issue for you (sarc).

I do however think a rendition of Fat Bottom Girls would be a far more entertaining song to play.

I’ll listen to this song in the stadium on repeat x10 for next 20 years happily……

Can I throw in "Rocking all over the fucking world" too?

Ugh. I'm also developing a disliking of hearing of Sweet Caroline. Didn't mind hearing it all (quite like the song) after Serge did the business in 2012 but it's bloody everywhere.

I'm not a fan either but it's a really recognisable song for anyone whether you're an FOC, not from these shores or an 8 year old kid so I get why it's played.

I can't stand the Hey Jude thing though.

There are plenty of song by Manchester bands that could be played so they should probably stick to those.
