Born and raised there and took the first chance i had to get out.
The people are great, great sense of humour, but the City it self is very average.

If you were a multi-millionaire,as most City players are, would you choose Manchester to live?

No I'd live in Cheshire, where most of them do

Same shit though, better house in a suburb of an average city,no thanks.

Manchester is not an average city, it has literally changed the world with the birth of the industrial revolution. whether you think that was good or bad, doesnt matter, this city changed the way the world worked.....lickle old Manchester.

it should be a world heritage site for that alone!

I've said it before on here but apart from subtle differences Manchester is pretty much like very other big City in the UK. There's good & bad about all of them. Ask Scousers, Brummies, Cockneys, Glaswegians, etc, etc, the same question and they'll all tell you their City has the finest heritage, is different to all the others & is a great place to live. The reason.... sentimentality. The truth is there's no major differences between any of them.

shop alarms, burning cars on street and angry drunken mobs at midnight.

Didnt think we was talking about Belfast.

my first impression lasted TFS.... and then there was the stone roses.... when the streets are cold and lonely, and the cars they burn below me.

pretty much sealed the deal as impressions go.... not been for years, may catch a game this year.

ah c`mon.... take that back you clown! the industrial revolution happened across most nordic states aswell as england/britain and france. to say it started in manchester is ridiculous..... you have sheffield, bolton, coventry, birmingham and every other london suberb could claim this.... when england was run from winchester.

Are you being serious or are you a RWUM!! If you have never been to Manchester how can you judge it. We have a lot going for us apart from the occasional rain shower.

Get a grip and visit the City before you come out with any more sh1t!

And they say Yanks don't get sarcasm!!!

MANCHESTER LA LA LA

I've lived in London (Kingston on Thames) and leafy Warwick both for work and I came back home in 2002.

I love this City.

Warts an all.

Most people who jump ship and live in some god awful provincial hell hole in Australia can't hack it over here. Australia is a god awful place, even the major cities are at LEAST 5 years behind us and they are generations apart culturally. I hope you stay in 'Oz' and never come back, the the first batch of wrong'uns we shipped over there.
