Plzen vs City post match thread

Great result, it was needed but I think Bayern and CSKA will win at Plzen so I see a very similar case like in 2011 group stage where the 3 better teams all made 6 points vs the weakest.

Bayern-Napoli-City now Bayern-CSKA-City. All will have 6 points from the Plzen games.

So the only thing is sure we go to Europa League at least this season.

The real tough matches for qualification will be against a lot better CSKA side but until that we have a month at least Pellegrini needs to work well and improve the team until that.
I think 4 points vs CSKA would be very good and would decide our fate for going trough.

The results against Bayern would be a bonus, with small outside chance for finishing top of group which would be fantastic but would accept a 2nd place right now.

I know City will be underdogs, but if they pull the upset at home against Bayern, I would then favor City to top the group. Realistically, hoping to get a point out of the next game.

Great atmosphere at the ground. Woke up in prague with a massive headache. Could get used to paying £1 for a pint!

Cheers,
Trevor & Simon

Hi everyone,

Is it alright if I stay buzzing for another few days? I went to bed at 4.15 am buzzing and with the Negredo, Aguero song going through my head and have woken up about an hour ago with the Vincent Kompany song going through my head, still buzzing!!

We were magnificent, we were brilliant, we were awesome, Ya Ya released from his shackles is a sensation............. the fans were fantastic, the spider man climbing the fencing was hilarious, ............................... do you get the drift???

Onwards and upwards as always with Manchester City, The Boys in Blue never give in!!

One thing that really made me laugh................... I shouted 'oi you, leave our Zaba aione' at a Plzen player for trying to bring down Zaba, of course everything round me had gone quiet for that moment, and one of our fans turned round and looked at me and I said, 'I'm sorry' and he said................ 'no, that's alright, just never heard a woman shout so loud at a match before'!!! :-)

Iwas thinking about you as i sat in front of the telly listening to the amazing singing you lot were doing,i thought i bet eccles is getting everyone going!great job

I wish I could take credit, although sometimes I would start a song all on my own, which made the young lad next to me laugh, and a few minutes later it was as if it had filtered through to people and they would then carry it on!! But it was a great experience and I even managed to be able to sit for the whole match, apart of course from when we scored!! When YaYa scored in particular I jumped up so quickly that my back went into spasm and I had to hold on to the upright in front of me and then take a pain killer when I sat down again!! *woe is me* Do not get old Karen7!! :-)

But it was a great experience again, the teasing I got from some of our lads out and about during the day, especially that devil incarnate de niro, but to counteract that I also got lots of hugs from people, even Natalie gave me a big hug!! But the best one, for me anyway, was from our very own boss, Ric.

So did Bill try to give you more than a hug?;)

Really think City can take the three points against Bayern. Just have to play without fear and it will work. Thanks to the Elite 600 who made my eve yesterday complete. No comment on German TV so I could hear you all the time. Loud and proud.

Right now I'm off to a pub, have some pints and after that I will go to the Schalke Arena.

Cheers

Dzeko played well

Nasri motm, what game were you watching?

I played the 2nd half back and watched it again without the in match anxiety which can colour ones view.

Nasri was definitely motm imho, if you disagree who gives a shit cos I don't.

Nasri was clearly MOTM, in the first half he played some brilliant through balls. In the second when he moved inside he absolutely ran the show.

Unfortunately some people have got a grudge against him because he doesn't dive in to challenges nad first, but when he's on song like last night he's an exceptional talent.

Just got this reply from the BBC

Hi Alistair,

I’m a City fan working working for BBC Scotland. Some of the fans on the Bluemoon forum were questioning the possession stats on the game last night ie 72% to Plzen. Was this a typo, Cheers, Steve.

Alistair Mcgowan:

Oh dear, that’s definitely a mistake. We are testing a new stats system and that clearly is an error so I’ll pass it on.

Thanks for alerting me.

We all make mistakes, said the Dalek climbing off the dustbin.

Love this one. Some quality tunes emerging to fill the Mancini/Balotelli/etc. void.

What are the words again?

The one nearest the camera is singing "Aguero, Negredo, Aguero, Negredo, la la la la" ... but you can also hear some sing "Alvaro, Negredo, Alvaro, Negredo" so I'm not sure what the song is meant to be.

It's 500 miles by the Proclaimers.

Is that the Beaky Blues on the video? They were great at Reading at the end of last season. Sang from beginning to end and cheered us up after the FA cup final.

Its definitely Alvaro not Aguero.

It started in the Dubliners on Monday night after 500 miles came on the jukebox. The lads who started it sung "Alvaro", but its hardly surprising that some people misheard given the industrial quantities of Pilsener being consumed ;-)

Well we were definitely singing Aguero Negredo round us and we were only couple of rows behind where that lobsided video was taken

Czech legend Antonín Panenka: "I've never seen Plzeň dominated like they were by City. They were the best team I've seen against Plzeň."

Shit, if someone can provide the correct squiggles on the town name, they must be kosher. Maybe Plzeň (I'm a quick learner) just had a bad day at the office. I hope so.

-- 18 Sep 2013, 22:41 --

What other good teams have they played?

Good away win either way. You'd expect us to beat them at home so hopefully they can get a result against cska Moscow in one of those games and help us out.
