Point gained or two dropped?

It was always going to come down to the Spuds home game regardless of today's result
But we wouldn't have needed to win against Villa & West Ham if we'd showed just a little ambition in the last two games.

Even fucking Wigan managed three goals against that team last week.

I'd quit if i was you, your reputation you so badly crave for on here will be ruined by clueless comments you keep entertaining us all with and not your ITK shite.

Difference is, that was at wigan... At emirates its very hard to get something. Completely different story.

So I dreamed that Wigan put three past them last week then?

I don't for a minute buy that arsenal were lacking motivation today. they worked very hard. and we worked hard at making arsenal look pedestrian. unfortunately when the moment arose we didn't sieze it, from 50 - 75 minutes we had them, bossed the game with a fantastic workrate, winning the ball back time after time and going straight on the attack, getting 2 on 3 or 3 on four, tearing into the space on the left. we just didn't demonstrate the sharpness to get a good pass in. the one really good cross, adebayor was stood on his heels. then wenger brought on eboue and bendtner, eboue cut off the space on the right. mancini couldn't play any more cards because of the injury to shay. the stoppage also upset the tempo of the game.

the concentration and organisation shown by the players was examplery for the full 90 minutes. look at the chances arsenal had. there were two or three. that's because we repeatedly got each of their players onto their weaker feet, and out of the real danger areas. it worked and we kept a clean sheet without major drama. against a team like arsenal, it's something to be proud of. as was the bite and tempo we showed in the middle of the second half before it petered out a bit.

on the other hand, for the first 45 minutes our passing was terrible. and there were some really bad decisions made on the counter, by barry and adebayor in particular, great positions utterly wasted. arsenal neutralised and isolated johnson too easily. the change for swp would surely have made a difference there. again, tevez looked out of sorts. dropped too deep and gave the ball away.

so we got into a position to win the game but didn't find the clinical edge to our attacking play. without making another change I don't see what could have been altered. some will say that it's mancini's coaching that was to blame, I don't really see how tho, we've been pretty clinical so far. some will say it's a mindset thing, you can't keep concentrate on keeping a team out and then suddenly switch it up. personally I think we have done so succesfully several times this season. bottom line is at 70 minutes the draw looked pretty safe and we had a good chance of winning.

I can see where the 'a point is no good' argument comes from. but it's wrong. we've taken away spurs' get out of jail free card. they could have afforded to drop two points against bolton and still be happy with a draw at ours, thinking they could get us on goal difference on the last day. now they can't afford to drop anything against bolton. the pressure is now equal for both teams going into next week. this is squeaky bum time, and it's all about pressure. after last week and the two spurs wins, the pressure was 100% on us. now it's equal on both teams.

Is that how football works in your little dream world then?

In that case the table is all wrong as we clearly are a better side than Chelsea and United because we beat Birmingham 5-1 at home and they only beat them 3-0 and 1-0 respectively.

We couldn't string two passes together and like last week set out to scab a point.
Apart from 10 minutes when Ade came on was anyone entertained in that 98 minute yawn.
If that was the final game and we needed to win the manager would have sent them out just the same because he knows nothing else.

Oh come on. Mancini knows what hes doing ragardless of what you think. You cant expect to go in every game and come away with 3 points, we did very well to get 1 point against arsenal.

In my "little dream world", teams that score more goals than the opposition win. wigan needed those points and really went for it, throwing men forward against a team that are known to be fragile defensively. Sitting back and snuffing them out is fine but will not win you anything.
