Points Whores

Right my two penneth, anyone who genuinely buys a ticket for an away game then finds out they cant go I have absolutely no problem with, sell the ticket on here or return it to the club depending on how long prior to the game you realise you cant go.

Anyone offering their ticket out with no intention of going to the game (Madrid away and Chelsea in the Community Shield are 2 recent examples) is a bit of a twat and is doing so purely to build their own points up depriving the next person who would be entitled to a ticket via the loyalty point scheme the chance of getting a ticket.

As for supporters clubs I can only speak from my own experience just before tickets go on sale for away games our club is asked how many they would like to apply for and customer numbers for each individual who wants to go, if the people applying dont have enough loyalty points (in the selling criteria set by the club) we dont get the tickets, if for example we ask for 10 and only receive 5 the 5 lads who applied with the most loyalty points get the tickets. Like I said I can only speak from my branch perspective and I realise there will be branches who 'bend' the rules to suit.

If you pay x number of £'s per season for your season ticket then until the club decide to change the system or rule it not allowed then you can do whatever you like with your season card. Buying a ticket for a friend, loaning the card out for a match or selling it on Viagogo or on here is entirely your choice.

A tiered points system should be introduced as discussed on the previous page but the issue of tickets / loyalty points and who gets what and when will never go away.

Just to throw my two pennorth in as well:

This is all very '1984' but instead of the Thought police we have the points police!!

No it's the blue moon police! No flags with location allowed, not allowed to support city if you weren't born 5 mins from the ground and you will be ostracised if you let your mates use your ticket to get an away ticket.

What do they do to you if you are old enough to have gone (by walking from Eccles) to Rags matches one week and City matches the other week when you couldn't afford to go to away matches? :-)

Anyone loaning their Ticket Out with no Intention of going is a **** as they are deprieving Blues of Tickets.

A bit of a sweeping statement there. As I mentioned earlier on the thread, my brother can't go to aways so I use his season ticket a few times a season to take my lad to matches. Back in the '90's, I rarely missed a game but since moving away from MCR, can't afford to go much these days. How is he deprieving a blue from going to a game when it's me getting to the match? I supported the club through the shit years but life circumstances mean that I can't enjoy the glorious years now. I go to non glamourous aways such as Blackburn last season and I'm planning Villa this season. Does this annoy you?
