Points Whores

People who have 10k points, good for you, I agree you get 1st dibs! Problem is, I'm on just over 7k and struggle, when one time I didn't, so either people are now going! Or giving their season ticket numbers out, meaning I won't get a chance to get up to 10k, before anyone asks, I have been to the games that others don't want to go as they seem to be the only tickets I can get! Iv got no chance for boxing day, I'll have to do what I did last season for the 1st time & find another way!!
I agree, on 7000 points you should not be struggling for a ticket

I think the number the club keeps back has increased leading to fewer going to the average supporter

To be fair the moaners haven't got a leg to stand on. Tickets were there to be had, if they didn't go that was up to them. No good moaning now we are doing well .

When we moved to the new stadium I had to start again as I gave my season ticket up previously as I bought a business,I had to use bluemooners to help me out. now me wife and Jess all have 10,000 points, that's a lot of games, a lot of heartache and an awful lot of money we've put in.

And now some fans moan at their plight or the system.

I think we've earned first dibs to be honest .

Thread should end on this post.
Sums it up perfectly.

100% agree, but this isn't the argument is it really, the people that have put it in over the years isn't the problem its the people that haven't and are trying to get in to the top by buying points and not earning them, that is the problem in my eyes.

that is correct charlie, they want to climb the points ladder without the effort and thats plain wrong.
thats why the mods will curb it from now on. we'll keep a much closer eye on it from now on.
of course the other side is that there are blues who couldn't care less about where the ponts go so desperate are they for a ticket, which is fair enough.although of course they are blocking their own chances of ever catching the sellers points tally in doing so.

An interesting aside to the whole points debate is that Everton (this season) and Tottenham (This season or last season) have changed their loyalty systems to a 'match ticket purchase history over 1 or 2 years' and recent attendance (over 4 years) scheme. Everton's loyalty scheme was only in place from 2009/10.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2012/08/02/loyalty-points-system-replaced" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2 ... m-replaced</a>

This guy points out that the new scheme favours people who have been able to afford tickets through the recession and have gone to games during Spurs' best premier league years (i.e. it will reward the nouveau riche as opposed to the old stalwarts).

<a class="postlink" href="http://blog.martincloake.com/2012/04/08/spurs-and-a-strange-kind-of-loyalty/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://blog.martincloake.com/2012/04/08 ... f-loyalty/</a>

There seems to be trouble at t' mill at Chelsea too

<a class="postlink" href="http://chelseafancast.com/2012/05/what-price-loyalty/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://chelseafancast.com/2012/05/what-price-loyalty/</a>

It will be interesting to see if the new schemes bring improvements from the fans' viewpoint and to find out how schemes work at other clubs. Maybe we should concentrate just on Premier league/ top division football in Europe due to the attendance draw, security requirements compared with other sports and travelling distances for away fans.

I am a "Loyalty Point Whore". Last season for example i knew i was going away Nov 18th to may 25th but still signed up to all 3 cup schemes even though i new i could not attend. Why? Well firstly i aint giving my season ticket up and secondally if i did not sign up to the schemes i would have had a season wasted of points.

i dont want to be accused of being a points whore so i no longer pay for tickets, i sneak in when the stewards are not looking, i'll do this for as long as i can, or at least till the moaners have caught up.
hope this helps.

ps if anyone wants to use my cards they can.

Sorry dad.

:-)

Stay tuned Paul , squirty is losing it :)

He has been losing it for years. Paul i am back at NWD. PM me your ext and when you are next in we can look at car sharing for mid-week games or just pop into my office for a brew to discuss. Regards Mick

The club categorize the games by price, why can't they do this with the points but obviously the other way around, also points should only be allocated once your SC has been activated at the turnstile for that particular game

eg

CAT A

Rags H
Madrid H

10 loyalty points

CAT D

Villa 3rd round League Cup

100 loyalty points

This way the true loyal fans that turn up to actually support the team get the points
