Points Whores

Without wanting to cause another great debate....but may I just ask..

What the fuck has it got to do with anyone on here what anyone does with their season ticket. Is this another bluemoon police thread...

If it isn't banners,it's loyalty points...

For what it's worth I have let my ticket be used for about 5 away games by other people over the past 5 years. I do not buy tickets for the points and then don't attend. If I can't go I won't buy a ticket but will happily let anyone else use it.

I haven't been a regular at aways for a few years now.Maybe 2-3 max per season. I go to all the games at home in all the cups however and get 40 pts a pop. I currently have 6910 pts so I have certainly not gathered those points by others using my ticket.

If someone can't get a ticket and they want to use mine then that's fine with me.
It means those with lower points can't buy tickets and thus the loyalty points sytem doesn't work.

I've no idea but it's still besides the point. They are more likely to have been at those games than Billy Bluecard that goes to 3 or 4 games a season when his mate lets him have the ticket.

As I say, just playing devils advocate as given mine away and bought tickets in the past myself.

Or some random stranger on BM.

I dont understand why so many people are so keen to offer it without being asked. I have seen ticket threads where people are offering the use of their card before anyone has even asked. To me that can only be for the points. Why would anyone care whether some random person gets a ticket or not.
Why not just let the system sort itself out.

If you have to do it then why not just PM the person who is asking at the time they ask. Blatantly advertising your card before being directly asked to me is out of order.

By the way...The ones who have the issue, were you at all the league cup games at home, europa league games at home and FA cup games at home over the past few years?

Yes yes and yes.

The ones who are shouting loudest about points are quite clearly ones who decided not to bother with the games at home because they couldn't be arsed.

Wrong.

]Sp you don't think a rolling 10 year period is fair?
It might be "fair", but I don't think it will stop people buying tickets with their own points and selling the tickets on. We all know it goes on now, we probably do it for our own mates sometimes, so how would putting it on a 10 year rolling period stop that ? I can't see how.

What is wrong though is people posting on the ticket forum "I'm not going, so PM me and I can order for you" for certain games, which is why we've discussed it as far as Bluemoon is concerned, and decided we won't allow posts like that, we know it won't stop people doing it, but at least we're not encouraging it.

I would have loved to go to Madrid, and easily have the points, but due to a schoolboy error on my part, my passport won't be available. If one of my mates asks me if he can use my card I will oblige, but otherwise I won't be buying, even though I could.

As moderators we have discussed this and its no longer happening, and the Madrid thread has been tidied up. We had a few concerns about it, one of them being the potential for scammers taking the piss.

it also a known fact that supporters clubs abuse the system, i have spoken to numerous fans over the past few years, some with very few points, some not even season ticket holders, but have managed to get tickets for the big games, just for joining supporters clubs.

swp, i think your rolling system is a decent idea, but i dont think all the previous effort should totally dissapear.

and is there an answer, not an 100% perfect one, but if you really have the desire you'll fet the tickets.

If only spares are allowed to be sold on here, then what happens to the "you can use my card as I have no intention of going to the game, but would quite like 40 free points" brigade?

It is unfair as people who are just below the criteria miss out, but nothing can really be done about it, people will always abuse whatever system is put in place.
