"We had an incident with about 1,000 Manchester United supporters turning up at the away end with about ten minutes to kick off," assistant chief constable Ian Hopkins explained, speaking to Sky Sports News.

18 arrests, 11 rags, 6 City, 1 neutral ...... they're clearly doing a fine job!
haha a fucking neutral where the fuck did he come from!!!!

the police have been terrible recently, anyone that sang or swore pretty much at everton got arrested and banned untill their court date, everything on camera which was odd for a pretty nothing game. united have had the same at all their away days recently. gmp aren't stupid

I'm not defending the rag fans in any way whatsoever, but those '1,000' rag fans that turned up 10 minutes before the kick off!

Were they the group of a couple of hundred or so that were kept corralled in a big police cordon by the Mitchell Arms for about 15 minutes, before being escorted to the ground up Ashton Rd? I had followed them up Pollard Street, and I walked past them at the pub. It was hard to miss them with all the blue flashing lights and barking dogs.

If that was them, then they would have got to the ground about 5 minutes before the kick off. I was walking up the spiral stairs about 10 minutes or so before the game started, and they were just by the BMW garage at that stage.

The point I suppose I am making is the police made a monumental cock up by deciding to let their fans out without holding them back for half an hour or so. I watch the games in the 3rd tier of the CB stand, and it always takes 5 minutes or so to get out of the stand, and I was staggered when I saw the rags were being let out.

It was no surprise to me there was a bit of trouble after the game.

To me, that is the problem here. The police fucked up by allowing their fans out, and now they are trying to fudge the issue with lies.

There were not '1,000' fans in that escorted group. They were held back at the Mitchell Arms for long enough they would be late for the kick off. And that group of '1'000' fans had organised it so they could gain entry without tickets! Do me a favour!

As I said, I'm not condoning what happened, those rag twats spoiled an evening out for some genuine fans, but the police coming out with their bollocks is unacceptable.

Why can't they just admit they fucked up. I can forgive anyone making a genuine mistake and admitting it, but making a mistake and lying through your teeth to the press.......bollocks to that.

And lets have another think about things here. There were not '1'000' empty seats at the kick off. No way. A few hundred perhaps, but nothing like '1'000'.

Sorry for the rant, but I just hate bullshit.

When we scored both goals i charged down to the front of 121 and just rubbed it in the rags faces, i was doing all sorts, wanker signs, middle fingers the lot, shouting red twats at them at the same time, iwas just buzzing so much and didn't really think of anything else, the adrenaline kicked in then i realise about 10 seconds later their was a copper filming us all about 5 yards away, clearly i will be on the video when played back, hope nothing comes of it! lol

Dibble in 'telling lies' shocker. They're the biggest bunch of self serving bullshitters in this country.

Ask the families of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster about police cover ups, they've been fighting one for the last 20 years.
