Just wanna say a big 'fuck you' to the police who pulled out all the stops to try n stop us enjoying last night. Closing off Albert square n taking cans off people in the street whose only crime was tryin to have a good time. Didn't see a single united fan all day so no potential for trouble yet cost me a fortune in cans till I had the brainwave to pop into tescos and buy a plastic pot and suddenly my drinking became acceptable. Hope their a bit more tolerant today but I've kept my plastic pot just incase

I'd keep that pot if i were you, as i've got a feeling we are gonna be doing a hell of a lot more celebrating in the near future!

Thought the whole thing was daft, shambles was obviously going to be busy so police told most of the pubs to close. We ended up in zinc bar around corner whose staff were completely unprepared for the amount of fans, but fair play to them they kept the beer flowing until they ran out of the stuff about 9 oclock. Plus seeing as pubs are closing down everyweek you'd have thought they'd be glad of the business but we were turned away from loads not letting fans in with city tops on.

They were a nightmare near Kro bar. Yes a few of the younger lads were going a bit OTT climbing statues etc but there was no trouble, not a rag in sight and no need for the way they were intimidating anyone who dared try to get into that area.

I think it was just pretty full and the please didnt want any more folk crossing the road from witherspoons,i agree they were cocks though.

Must admit though i dont know how that young lad with the city top managed to get that scarf on the top of the statue,he would of probably killed himself had he fell!

In fairness the Police were only stopping fans brining more drink into the area around the Wellington statue. They left the fans inside the cordon to finish drinking. The fan who thought it was funny to throw his can in the air and not be bothered where is lands, is the real reason why the Police take this kind of action.
