I still don't believe the Lib Dems can be considered a continuation of the old Liberal Party.
 
Bloody hell, can't believe this thing is still doing the rounds. Only works if people are honest, and most aren't as they don't want to appear to be too far one side or the other.

Looking at that diagram, you see the effect Thatcher had in dragging Labour to the right whilst the Liberals were not dragged as much.

It would be interesting to know if the smaller steps taken to the Neo-Liberal right were a result of there being less of them in number terms.

It is also suprising to me how out of kilter political parties are to the people who have done the compass from here. Going off this thread and the other one i saw the Green Party would win a majority of around 600
