Political relations between UK-EU

But we know the government signed the Brexit deals not understanding what they had agreed , probably not even having read the agreement, or thinking they could just ignore bits that were inconvenient. We know this because they have told us and that’s why they are trying to re write the Ireland protocol. Seems more than likely the same applies to fishing because that bit too was a last minute panic signing.
It seems to me that the Brexit agreement is very similar to the LotG - the wording can be massaged so that the desired outcome can be either black or white depending on which colour you favour at the moment.

I'd disagree as a legal document it will be quite clear in what it says hence both sides threatening each other with legal action from time to time. What we had was a pack of lies laid out by the Brexit Mafia such as guff on no change to being able to live in the EU and fishing ....... then they signed off in far too much of a hurry to hit an artificial dead line of their own construction and since then we have had further lies from them and a pliant media prepared to spin on their behalf so a lot of people have a warped view on the terms of the agreement. Thats why at every move it turns out that Project Fear is in fact Project Here - Johnson yesterday trying to equate the fall of the Roman Empire with uncontrolled immigration is an example of how desperate they are becoming.

Just watch the ^^ video in question and wondered why Boris Johnson had jumped from COP/Climate to uncontrolled immigration even quicker than he gets dressed.

Thats how it seems to Boris too, to the EU it sats what it means and means what it says. Its a legal document and contract.

If it were quite clear we wouldn't have lawyers chomping at the legal bit, begging bowls out waiting for an eye-watering fee to lay bare what the legalese actually means!

Yes but lawyers are trained to draft contracts in plain English not legalese.

If we didn't understand it at the time it was agreed, what on earth were our negotiating team doing? They should have asked for clarification or attempted to agree a re-wording before it was signed off.

I think we know that they probably did know what it meant but believed it to be politically convenient to renegotiate parts of it on an ad-hoc basis later down the line.
