So why do you think Reform have so many followers, to the point that they are forcing themselves into the reckoning? Is everybody that thinks like that wrong? That makes a lot of wrong people to be appeased.... or indeed a lot of head wobbling going on as @FogBlueInSanFran suggests.
Roughly 20% of the population like the idea of an authoritarian and totalitarian state with no democracy. That way they can burn asylum seekers alive in hostels with none of that pesky rule of law nonsense. Their only criteria is that it cannot be ‘their own’ on the end of any murderous or harsh behaviour, it has to be ‘others’.
Of course it will be them at some point. These States always eat their own in the end, after which we are inoculated against it for another eighty to a hundred years and then we repeat the cycle.
Voting for Farage or Trump is about hating people. Doesn’t really matter who, it’s simply about hate. And a lot of people like to hate, and they especially hate people who don’t think as they do. That’s what really bothers them, makes them mad as hell. They believe people who think differently look down on them. Think they are dumb bigots. And they are right. I do look down on their ignorance, their stupidity and their dishonestly. I can’t stand them, which is why I understand their ability to hate, because I hate them back. They nauseate me with their creepy, obsequious arse licking, and moronic stupidity.
Reform voters and their fellow travellers are not new, or original or thinking differently from the ‘sheep’. They are ‘the sheep’. They just don’t have the wit or imagination to know it. They are choosing a path that humanity has gone down a thousand times before and will do so for another thousand times to come. Renaissance, enlightenment are the exception not the rule.
