I thought yer meant that but I couldn't pass up the chance to root and flush out a slave of all things Aldridge.Obviously meant in the EPL era
Mercer/Allison a team built on a relative shoe string , players unearthed from lower divisions and developed into the best team in the land , Allison was the most innovative coach of his era and would have given Pep a run for his money and Genial Joe was the calming influence.
The probem with our recent title wins is the total lack of respect our club recieves , we have apparently bought titles and trophies with oil money and that will always be the stick to beat us with , the '68 side was a team built from brilliant signings like Bell,Lee,Summerbee for a total of £140k even in todays money that is chicken feed. Pep has had the luxury of signing a £50m defender and if it doesnt work out, sign another £50m defender.
But money doesnt guarantee success you only have to look across the road at the Rags , Pep has mainly used the clubs resources brilliantly and hasnt signed many duffers and we are all reaping the benefits.
Supremely proud of all our clubs achievements but the '68 teams shades it for me, i think we won the title with a nucleus of around 13/14 players, which would be unheard of now.
This for me almost word for word, 17/18 topped off by the Jesus goal, amazing release of tension when Mahrez scored!Strictly league campaigns under Pep:
1) 17/18 was an extremely fun experience from start to finish.
2) 20/21 has been the most relaxing. Especially since February. Defensive solidity goes a long way.
3) 18/19 was horrible and tense because of Liverpool, but it definitely felt the best when it was over. When Mahrez scored against Brighton it felt amazing.
Tom Brady is that youThe next one.
17/18, without doubt. I love it when we dominate. Ideally for me City would win every single game at least 5-0 every season.
