Portugal v England Women

11 individuals, managed a flukey win via a mis-hit cross, and then to hear a glib summary that "we played how we wanted to play" is a warning that the future is grim with this manager. But not a surprise to quite a few of us.
Neville is useless, he's turned a team that played with some pace into a terribly slow team that struggles to even keep the ball.

Totally agree with this assessment, I've heard Alex Scott talk sense a few times, however the short arse blonde one (sorry don't know her name) is as insightful as Jermaine Jenas. If they are pundits they should have significantly more knowledge of the game than the average viewer regardless of the level they played at. Clearly the majority of male and female pundits fail to meet that threshold by some distance.

If they had a scrap of knowledge these people would always fancy their chances as managers - failed ones, probably - but the out and out pundit has limited knowledge of the intricacies of the game, tactical nous, oversight, pro-active ideas, and so we are 'blessed' with the ruminations of The Two Dannies, Glenda, Merson, Owen, et al.

Nothing against women playing football, it's a great sport for all. But can we stop putting them in every football programme on tv. It's a very poor standard at best compared to the Premier League but yet the 'STAR' players are asked for their views on the Premier League on MOTD and Sky Sports. When was the last time you saw a experts view given by a player from Cheltenham Town or Oldham Athletic? And I'd argue they are a better standard.

Womens view on mens football is just tv employees trying to gain pc points above quality standards.

Women should be able to enjoy football at all levels, but the highest level of football at the moment should be men only. Before you blast me to pieces, tell me the best ever women footballer, and at what level she would fit into the mens game. When you've done that, tell me why the midfielder in that team never gets invited onto MOTD.

Like I said at the start, I'm not against women enjoying football, it's a sport for all. But just don't force it on me for your pc reputation and promotion at work

I think you make a valid point to be fair but then perhaps male footballers like Dion Dublin shouldn't really be commenting on women's football either.

Womens football is good to watch up to a point. They are just not very good at putting the ball in the net.

Which makes it all the more ridiculous that the Chelsea women's team manager wanted the goals reduced in size.

I don't know the name of the female match commentator but she has a "Gatling Gun" shouty voice delivery style. "She's got the ball...pause...pause...pause, she's running at goal, pause, pause, pause, she shoots at goal...pause...pause...pause, the ball-boy's gone looking for it.
