Happy with that (I've backed Portugal to win the thing), a tricky group sorted and still have a dog in the fight, there's a fucking good team in there somewhere, will be interesting when they play a top side, they like to play on the break.

He used the phrase making the area of his hand unnaturally bigger. That's nonsense. If I was on the panel i would have asked him for a demonstration of making his hand unnaturally bigger followed by another demonstration of making his hand naturally bigger.

He could have played a vid of O J Simpson in the dock!!!
Waltons a complete waste of skin and Christ knows why ITV persevere with him.

A poor decision by the referee. That can only be handball if he deems it deliberate.

IFAB even have a helpful image of an example of a no penalty in their video guide to the laws of the game.

Thanks. That is useful. It alludes to the difference between naturally and unnaturally bigger. I still think the description "unnaturally bigger" is cumbersome though. It would benefit from more elegant meaningful terminology.

I think that penalty award was a case of a younger referee being intimidated into giving the decision by the VAR ref. Didn't have the strength of his convictions to stand by his original decision. Definitely looked a bit conflicted when he was walking away from the monitor.

So it was var who had time to check and then tell the ref to review . Does Var ever check their manual or is it like ikea‘s manual ?

He is an utter self centred ****, no team ethic at all. No way we’d have won the premier league last season with that preening **** at the club
He’s also a finisher, something we missed terribly last season. We would have had the league sewn up by March and won the Champions League. He would have known in no uncertain terms the conditions he was joining us, as a squad player, nothing more. One season, maybe two, he knows he cannot keep pace with the type of football we played against utd in the first half this season but let’s face it, that’s the only time I can think of that we have played that way.
