Positive news about Corona Virus Updates

We're in a really weird moment with Covid where I don't really care about today's numbers at all anymore, I'm just worried about 2 weeks, 3 weeks away to see if it's coming back in a major way.

The lockdown have been pretty loose for over two weeks now and we not seeing an increase in deaths or hospital admissions, it’s either the hot weather effecting the virus or those who are more at risk haven’t left there houses.

the latter's the real concern for me, but at some point either by the government luring them out or irresponsible rule breakers taking it home with them, or just by being slightly more lax, the people we've worked so hard to protect end up exposed and we lose them, and that's a hard pill to swallow when the rules have been crystal clear.

I just look at the daily figures and trends. I like to see the improvements and the horrendous loss of lives since March. I don’t watch the press conferences or news. Fingers crossed the easing of the lockdown and the ignoring of restrictions by a sizeable minority doesn’t lead to an increase in cases and serious illness.

The R number is going to rise and fall every now and then and so is the infection rate.

we can’t over panic every time as this could go on for months.

just have to keep it low , contain it in certain areas where it’s higher and be prepared.

no point going over board with worry every time there’s a news headline on the above - for me , it’s fully expected

For me it is this! I haven't left my home apart from walks up and down my garden and 3 walks around the block of 4 houses where I live, in 13 weeks. So because everyone was telling me it should be all right now, on Friday I ventured out. I drove to the Trafford Centre where I knew there was only M & S open and I was out of the house for 1 hr and 5 minutes. I wore a mask and was never any nearer than 1 metre (at the checkout with the perspex screen between us). Success I thought, now I can probably venture out once a week maybe.

That evening I read the news that the NW has an R rate of 1.01 and in one report 1.18!! Guess who is back to supermarket deliveries and another 13 weeks under house arrest????????? I want to see my great-grandchildren grow up, I am not risking my health and will carry on FaceTime calls until I am at least 95% sure that we won't be getting a third wave. I am expecting a second wave any day now.

Call me pessimistic but I am sure there are a few people on here who can tell you that I am normally a glass half full person. At the moment I am not even a glass quarter full person!! Sorry. :-)

stay safe, that's the most important thing and too many people out there are creating a ticking time bomb with their actions, with absolutely no regard for the most vulnerable in society the rest have tried to protect for the past 3 months. Hopefully it won't completely be in vain.

Weekend figures but still.

Second day of zero deaths registered 'very encouraging'

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirms 15,639 people have now tested positive for Covid-19, an increase of 18 from yesterday.

1,042 patients are in hospital with a suspected or confirmed case (up 40, nine of which are confirmed), with 24 being treated in intensive care (down one).

3,799 people have been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for the virus since 5 March.

No deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours, meaning the total figure remains at 2,415.

This is the second day in a row with zero deaths - but this must be treated with extreme caution as registrations have always tended to be lower at weekends.

Ms Sturgeon says this is "very encouraging" but warns it is "highly likely" more deaths will be recorded in the days ahead.
