Positive thread alert

We've written off four years waiting for Pep & he says he only wants to be here for 3 years.

This year is a dry run......?? Leave it out we don't have the time !

Pep has done some neat things with some ordinary players but he hasn't transformed anyone to be extraordinary. Some of his changes have, imo, been unecessary, his tactics confusing & the setups (Leicester) naive or arrogant.

We are under performing our potential AGAIN. He's the boss, the buck starts & stops with him.

I doubt that HRH Sheik Mansour is overly thrilled with where we are at the halfway stage of the season & I know for a fact that he's bemused by the goalkeeping situation.

Over to you Pep,the time is now !!

How do you know that particular snippet ?

That is so subjective with our current squad that it is impossible to quantify IMO

Go on. I'll bite, what has the good man said?

a) To piss people off?
b) Sagna feeling unwell earlier in the week?
c) Kolorov offers a more attacking threat?
d) Sagna picking up a knock in training?
e) Sagna not impressing during mid week training?

Take your pick
Regarding point C; is Kolarov's primary responsibility not to defend? We have more than enough attacking potential in the side as it is (though you wouldn't have guessed it yesterday).

I was being somewhat frivolous in my response to CPB. But the only answer that counts is that pep obviously believed he would be a better fit for that game

Defensively we've looked a lot more solid in the past four games.

Arsenal and Liverpool only managed one shot on target each against us, and a combined 11 shots in total.

Liverpool only had 5 shots in total against us yesterday - their league average is 17.

Several negatives to counter those positives but this is the Positive Thread.

A work in progress requiring patience and an awareness of a few hiccups along the way. Once sorted there will be no looking back.

People can moan about Kolarov all day long but we literally have 2 defenders who are good enough and they are Stones and Otamendi.

I'd say we have one defender who's good enough, Vinny, but he's always injured, and one who might be good enough one day, Stones

Otamendi is a disaster waiting to happen every game

If he's always injured then he ain't good enough sad to say!

I disagree with your assessment on Otamendi and think he's a fine centre back as part of a quartet of good centre backs.

hi all. Pep hasn't inherited a team of players like he had at Barca and Bayern. He IS the best manager about but can't turn water into wine. We re being sucked into the media frenzy which is now rubbing their hands as he struggles. He has made a couple of mistakes so far- completely understandable in my view as he gets cosy with the PL and how it works.
Don't worry, this is the long haul. He will lead us to be the biggest machine in Europe. He has funds, knowledge and expertise. I expect a half decent year and then a resounding 2nd season

All good blues, breathe deeply and relax
You can fuck off now with this positive shite, baldy twat out.

The first 10 games seemed to lull a lot of people into thinking this EPL lark would be a cakewalk.

The reality is we were and still are a team in need of rebuilding, we certainly knew that at the end of last season.

What Pep has managed with more or less the same side is pretty decent. This is his first season, and yes questions can be asked about some of his decisions and team choices, but every game he plays he will learn a bit more about the squad he has, and what areas need to be addressed. However, the rebuild will take time, this isn't Football Manager on the Xbox, this is real and there will be slips along the way, but I for one can live with that.

To me the target is top four and a CL slot, but even if that's not achieved, its not a disaster in terms of building a team, it certainly hasn't harmed Chelsea or Liverpool much has it given their respective positions in the table!

I know it's an open football forum, and it's all about opinions blah blah blah, but some of the drama queens, fifth columnists and impatient (moaning) b@stards on these pages are starting to get on my waz.

And apparently the sheikh is in the hart back camp, according to the very credible source CrownPointBlue, who definitely isn't full of shite.
