Kolarov makes everything very slow...

Not half as slow as Nasri does, takes a couple of touches, thinks about taking his man on and then passes back. I'm not seeing a different Nasri to last season so far and I thought today was an opportunity for him to shine as we had no other specialist AM on the pitch.

Thankfully we've got Silva, Jovetic, Aguero and Navas to liven things up going forward from now on because even for a training match the tempo today was ultra-pedestrian at times.

On the positive side Fernandinho looked tidy, especially first half - Milner was excellent and Negredo looked very handy in his 20 minute spell, a peach of a pass for Dzeko.

Had a good run out and won without conceding. That pitch was a great leveller as well, gave S China a bit of a sniff. We did ok

Did any corner or free-kick reach a City player? I saw one corner reach the goalie, which was some advance. Really need someone to be good with deadball kicks or we might as well save the defenders the energy of having to run up and then back and just pass the ball straight to the opposition instead.

Neither were great but Barry was probably better than Fernandinho today, certainly no worse yet fernandinho was "very good" and Barry "no thanks"?
