Post match thread - City v Chelsea

wonderful performance, exciting going forward, and resilient at the back.
Good to have Vinny back on track, leading the line.
don"t think there was a poor performance from anyone!

Its amazing what a change in tactics can bring about. Like you say we've gone from looking like conceding every time a team attacked or whenever we faced a set piece, to looking like we're back to our dominant best just by fortifying the midfield thus protecting our defenders.

I'm optimistic that the gloom and doom of last season will hopefully become a distant memory. I particularly like the way Pellegrini brought on MDM to see us over the line. Mourinho looked gutted that a superior team used his own tactics against him to bring home the bacon. He still couldn't bring himself to give our performance the credit it deserved. He looked a right dick saying we won the first half but Chelsea were the better team in the 2nd half. Hello; we won the first half 1-0 and won the 2nd 2-0! We were ahead and in control of the match, so the onus was on Chelsea to take the game to us. Mourinho's a prized berk.....

It's like they think they deserve a point, minimum, for thinking they were the better side second half, whilst completely forgetting City's utterly dominant first half display.

Mourinho, like Pulis last Monday, completely incapable of any praise. But did we expect anything different; probably not.

Another 3 points :)

Mangala with a protective arm around Fernandinho as the players walked off at H-T when Costa was trying it on with the handbags playground stuff. Nice touch by Eliaquim. Really don't want to see him loaned out if the rumours prove true. The lad is coming on well and needs to be backed.
+1

And Vinny seemed to be deliberately positioning himself between Fern and Costa the whole way to the tunnel.

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!! :-)

On a side topic. I didn't think Courtois missing the game would mean that much, because I rate Begovich. That being said, the first two goals are interesting to look at. Begovich was in the right place on the first two, but they were just in a the perfect window, bouncing in off the inside of the post. If you assume Courtois would have been in the same position, he would have probably got fingertips to them and be able to push them wide. I think we caught a break with him being out.

Not a hope. Begovic was outstanding today, we would have put more past Courtois.
