Post match thread - City v Chelsea

A bad start for Chelsea is more significant than a bad start by other title challengers. Mourinho's title winning teams always win from the front, go top of the table early and stay there. He's never won a title by making a late run. He hasnt often had to do that, but its not something he's temperamentally suited to doing. When he isnt winning he makes things worse, makes excuses, finds others to blame etc. Alienating the medical staff is one thing, hanging the captain out to dry is another. Last season he might have made exactly the same half time substitution but it would have been explained as an injury.

The title isnt won in autumn but if we can maintain the gap for a few weeks, it could be decisive as far as Chelsea are concerned.

We've hit the ground running in my eye, out of the top 4 I reckon we've got the worse possible starting fixtures even though many (myself included) expect to beat west brom it's still a tough game away, Chelsea was a draw on the cards so a potential 2 points is now 6 points on the card, Everton away on Sunday is another test of our capabilities and with Everton hammering Southampton both us and Everton will be on for if we can secure another win 9 points in 3 games with those 3 fixtures will be a massive plus for us!

Assuming something more happened in the tunnel at HT, given Tunnel Cam's skipped straight from Pellers coming down to the teams coming back out.

Ahh, cheers.
Wasn't aware.

Clearly shows that we need another CM.
Not really. Delph and Fernando still both to come back. With MD able to a job when called upon. I think we're just about full up in that role. If someone new came in, there'd need to be a departure as well.

Someone give this guy a box of tissues.

Can't argue with much of what that guy said. He was obviously shell shocked, and it's clear that - by their standards - Chelsea are a club in crisis. If WBA hold them next week to a draw, or worse, the natives will get even more restless.

City were well worth the points yesterday no matter what Maureen might say. On another day, we could have been 5 - 0 up at half time but for Begovitch and poor finishing from Aguero and Mangala.

What an event that was. So much more than just the first home game of the season. The opposition team; hated manager; publicity around them; atmosphere; chances; goals; taking the piss; the noise - the ear splitting noise- wow! The win. Fantastic!!!

Thanks to City. Thanks to the 1894 boys. Unbelievable Jeff!!!

You can well imagine what some of the shall we say, more vocal posters after that pre season performance are thinking and feeling right now about their comments.

Yes, mate. We all make mistakes but the lack of correlation between pre- and actual season performances is there to be seen year after year. Makes you wonder how long the flappiest flappers have been watching football.

I'd rather have my Aguro than 3 bales! best player in the BPL by a long mile!!!!!
