Post match thread - City v Newcastle

Sweet Gav, nicking that for my new desktop :-)

Busy working and decorating today so not seen match yet, downloading 720p now for some sweet saturday night entertainment.
Mrs Guy can cry alone about xfactor getting the boot in place of the rugby whist i imbibe and chill :-)

Great to have Zaba back taking up where he left off ...... proper team player!
De Bruyne is a diamond and his sublime goal will be overshadowed by Sergio's fantastic 5.
Hope the Navas critics will concede that today at least he's an unsung no nonsense hero.
Otamendi finding his tough tackling way and Mangala made a confident return.
Kolarov must be knackered and needs a deserved rest when Clichy is fit.
The Ferns worked their rocks off today to fill Yaya's role.
Joe making more good saves and delivered a few verbal pastings to the team to sort things out during the first half.
Despite not getting the breaks Sterling has a good work ethic and doesn't hide, we must give him time as his quality is not in doubt.
Good management bringing Bony and Nacho into the mix.
Does anyone celebrate our goals with more passion than Ruben Cousillas .... what a guy!
Happy days blues.
Agree mate , although Zab doesnt look up to speed yet , I suppose Sagna was glad of the rest , and can only be a good thing Zab having competition for his regular place

The match day thread is silly in the extreme. Rags on there pretending to be blues left, right and centre if you ask me. Just have a read.

I can only imagine they were saying what half of us were saying at the game.

I for one was slating Sergio at half time, don't I feel a bit silly now?!

Fantastic result today considering the circumstances. We were still very sloppy at the back in the first half but looked so focussed when they came back out. Aguero has found his shooting boots again which is so important. Really pleased with the lads.

The first 10mins of the second half is unlikely to be repeated for at least 20 years - it was fucking amazing

They were seriously over the top. Nobody at the game was talking like that from where I was sitting.

I agree we bought him for something different and for the first 4/5 games he offered just that. I think De Bruyne coming in has confused the system a little bit but de Bruyne is clearly going to be a fantastic player for us and when he went left today, for me that's where he has to be. His cross for Aguero was brilliant. His best performance for me was 2nd half v Watford when he played in the middle behind Aguero but that is Silva's best position so it is going to be hard for him to play much there. Perhaps the game against Palace is the one to try that.

All I am saying is he needs to understand that to retain a place in this side, you have to be on your game almost every game.

I still think he will be a good addition though and overall I am still reasonably happy with his contribution to date. I think he will get better but doesn't have to start every game to do that.

i agree, most players need a settling in period (like sterling). some are just so good that they hit the ground running from day 1 (ginger kev)

i hope that the majority of city fans appreciate this, especially so with a 20 year old that is tipped for the very top.

Sterling to the bench then and see if he can effect a game when coming off like navas has done. That's what you get at a big club mate, you gotta up your level constantly or you will be replaced by another international.

I thought fernandinho was fucking brilliant again and is clearly our best player upto now, Fernando was decent too and looks much fitter.

Special mention for bonys little trick. If he can get his shooting boots on, he'll come good.
