Post Match Thread: City vs Boro

Feel the same as after Newcastle.

Senior players not really wanting to win as much as the opposition. Kids who are desperate to get a chance being left in the stands.

Missed opportunity all round.

In general our inability to defend against anyone that puts a bit of pressure on us is a big concern. Pragmatism, and clean sheets can be entertaining too.

That was dire. It's no consolation that Chelsea lost - they rested most of their first team and we played full first team. What's more if Arsenal lose to Brighton tomorrow that will make Julie Vandrews and his merry men favorites to win the cup.

Boro ARE our boggy team - we rarely win at theirs and often mess up at home to them.
So it serves us right for treating the competition and the opposition with so much contempt.

Should have been out of sight at half time. But we weren't.
2nd half a different story as the travel back from Abu Dhabhi caught up with us.
Just goes to show that aside from Silva, Nasri and YaYa - there isn't much in our midfield. Fernando is woeful and Navas proved yet again that he can run fast but can't beat a man anywhere near as often as he should and can't cross either.

We cant afford to have more than one of Toure, Nasri or Silva out at the same time. This period has clearly exposed how thin we are for quality attacking midfielders who can hold the ball and unlock defences/teams that pretty much sit back on us. If we have all 3 available we are clearly best team in Premier League and a threat in Europe. WIth one missing, we can mostly get the job done, with 2 of them out we are very vulnerable.
Lets get Yaya and Nasri back and our season will be back on track for sure, just need to hold Chelsea next week (they are far from invincible). Keep the faith.
P>S we need to use our funds in summer for a gun midfielder, clear as day.

how about building from the back 1st. you achieve nothing with a crap defence.

The club, players and Pellegrini will get slaughtered this week because of the Abu Dhabi trip and rightly fooking so!!

Whomever made that decision to return so late should be fired!

That was the worse performance I have seen for 10+ years!

Not one single player for the 2nd week running comes out with any credit
Pelligrini has some major issues to resolve IMO

This squad isn't as good as the one Mancini had and I'm being serious...

Balo for the useless Jovetic
De-Jong for either of the equally shite and totally overrated DM's

Fook FFP our recent buys have been nothing short of woeful;
Mangala - 38MM
Fernando - 15MM
Navas - 15MM
Cabarello - 6MM

That's 74MM on players who are certainly not an upgrade on the players we had!!!

Imo something seems seriously wrong and they are hiding behind FFP....This isn't a blip, this is serious and big decisions are needed as we are simply imploding!!

Enough is enough and Heads need to roll

I've haven't been this angry since the infamous Pearce regime!!

This is no knee jerk reaction, I have supported our fantastic club for over 45 years and this, given our marvelous owners incredible backing is simply unacceptable!!

I can't be bothered to find it but I started a thread in the Summer about playing the kids in the domestic cups but most disagreed as we 'should be going for every competition'. I'd love us to win all 4 but that's not the real world.

Strangely, it feels like the season is about to begin.

I am not meaning to be negative when I say that 2nd [or at worst 3rd] is a must and the top priority, As things are right now, anything else is a bonus.

Last 4 home games and most of us have said well played Burnley, Sunderland, Arsenal and now Middlesbrough. The truth is we were crap and have been at home for most of the season. Our away record is much better especially goals scored.
Whilst my heart says we could beat both Barca and Chelski my head says we will finish trophyless this season.
Summer signings have proved poor so far and too many regulars have under performed.
Pellers and the backroom boys must take some of the blame but at the end of the day our squad players have simply not been good enough.
Bring on the Academy boys and let's hope Ivory Coast don't go beyond the group stage.

We have too many bloody bogey teams ffs. We're champs and should be putting effort into every game.

We should have enough depth to cover for Nasri and Yaya when they are out and shouldn't be using players like Boyata when better options are available. We need to change something fast.
