Ever since watching City thrash Mansfield Town 6 -0 pre 1997/98 season and
then informing my wife we were definitely going to get promoted I've never really bothered about these games.

Tonight when we had something like our first team out we looked comfortable and their keeper was their best player.

If we had really wanted to win the game we would have kept our main players on but the idea is to give everyone a run out.

First half was almost like last years version of city.
Second half..great pressing and much more urgency.fernandinho improved after break..nasri had his moments playing free role..dzeko off the ball movement was generally poor..barry either unfit or really poor..sinclair was prob on shopping window..yaya not fit enough..
shame that micah and zaba play on same position..would have loved to have them both in the 11..great energy and attitude..

I didnt see much improving on the first friendly.

Lot of times we get the ball back at the back Dzeko and co at the half way line and we turn into attacks way to slow like it was under Manicni.

Clearly 1 week training wont be enough to change that for Pellegrini but he has to work on it because that is crucial.

Both Supersport and Amazulu made just as money subs as we did, they wanted to give chance to their players as well, probably they are ahead of us in their pre season or are they playing league games these days?

Hopefully there will be a few wins in friendlies, not too important of course but some success feeling wont be bad surely.

Pellegrini said in the beginning it is not important but in the last 2-3 friendlies he wants to win as we are closer to the Newcastle match...

Nasri looked the player we thought we'd bought - and quite impressed by young Suarez's work rate .
Wasn't that rag hilarious ? It does my heart good to see how much it means to them that "Ickle Citeh " lose a pre -season marketing exercise!!!

A better performance but some schoolboy defending for the 2 goals and some weak finishing. Frustrating we didnt win but we dominated possession and chances. At least we didnt do a blanket 11 for 11 at half time.
The MCFC commentator was poor can we not get a better one? (He doesnt seem to be a City fan.)

I agree - Poor performance overall but even poorer commentator!

He couldn't remember how many subs we'd made and then come out with a comment saying they haven't tested Panti much when he'd only been on the field 7 minutes!

Nasri and Fernandinho looked lively, and Yaya's passing was top notch too.

even pellers himself said its all about fitness and looking at the players. HE said he don't care about results. Its all about preparation etc. Im not fussed over pre-season results. 1st prem game of the season is where it matters.
