The booing of Barton was embarrassingly Arsenalesque.
I don't agree with the booing of Barton however it's not exactly Arsenalesque, is it? SWP and Dunne were cheered, Barton was booed by those who think he's a twat. Barton has gone on record and admitted that he's done things in the past which has given people ammunition to react like that towards him.

I can see why some booed Barton however i am in that corner of the south stand near the corner flag and the bulk of us clapped him when he came over to take a corner and he clapped us back. Why?Because for all his stupidity and daft statements on the whole when he pulled that blue shirt on he gave it his all.

He seemed to get more abuse from the corner next to away fans.

Most other parts in seemed to get 3/4 applause and 1/4 boo.

Barton was ok for us and certainly helped keep us up in the Pearce years so he is ok by me.

Niall Quinn was very uninteresting on Sky.

Waffling on about the crowd and the extra seats, I am surprised he is allowed anywhere near the ground - TRAITOR.
And what part of what he said was wrong ?

It's annoying from my perspective as the references to empty seats are referred to at pretty much all of our home games by commentators but rarely mentioned in games not involving City. Why does it only appear relevant to us?

It isn't just us. Empty seats are being mentioned regularly and most hypocritically by Sky who expect all their armchair supporters and subscribers to be tuned-in but take the piss at people not going to a match. C#nts.

I've got a lot of time for Joey, he says it how he sees it, and doesn't give a shit whose nose he puts out of joint, in today's world of PR massaged sound bites, banal millionaire pundits, it's the non-stars, the hod carriers and journeymen players who have seen, and been the wart on the arse of fantasy football, that have mores interesting things to say.
Imagine a panel with Barton, G.Neville, Souness, there'd be no punches pulled, no ego's massaged, and no agenda's followed.....

I didn't get to the game as was abroad but my lad told me he was clapped,as you say when he played for us he gave his all and he seems to have realised he cant be a cock end all the time.I like him, glad he got that applause from City fans.

My lad said SWPs welcome was a bit better though!

I didn't boo or clap him whereas I did clap Dunny and SWP. He did put in a shift for us when we had a shit side but he is still a thug who would probably be in prison with his brother if he weren't playing professional football so I can see why some people did boo.

Why are people bitter about our ex players? I thought we were better than that.

I think in Barton's case his stubbing of a cigarette on a youth player's face, his vicious assault on a teammate during training, his walking out to go to a "bigger club" (allardyce's Newcastle), his return to elbow Tevez in the mouth, kick Aguero from behind and then try to headbut Vinnie while leaving the field might have something to do with it. Then there are the verbal attacks he launched on the club while still here and those on our players long after he'd gone! I'm sure I can remember some quite serious misdemeanours though if I try. I think it's fair to say that he left in 2007 and he hasn't been missed much. But it was Balotelli who was trouble!

Bang on the money.

was it just me,but I thought that Milner had a poor game.So many situations when a goal was on the cards and he either over hit his cross,or put it just behind the intended recipients?

No, I thought he was terrible too.
Very frustrating. Well, as frustrated as you can be watching a 6-0 win anyway.

I'm not a Navas fan but he would have had a field day against that fullback. Surprised Milner is still getting picked if he's going.

Although his comments about 'we will be back challenging for the title next year' were a little confusing after the game.
