Post Something Interesting

For the DIY enthusiasts.

You know when you're using one of those tubes of sealant/filler around the house and you only use a bit of it. Then the rest goes hard and next time you use it it's useless, so you have to buy a new tube.

You can remove the screw on nozzle and use a synthetic wine cork to seal the tube.
Rigggggghhhhhhhttttt, but you need a nozzle and the original one is now rock hard.

or....the tip of the nozzle that has been cut off, turn round and push back in the nozzle. It's the exact same width and a perfect fit.

on most pedestrian crossings there is a small metal bump hidden on the underside that rotates when the man is green, for blind folks, and especially blind/deaf folks

There is a post on the DMC FB site about bed linen being referred to as "Manchester" in New Zealand and Australia!

"A store chain in NZ has a big sale on Manchester linen"

The name being given and is still used today, because of Manchester's cotton industry.

Never heard that term and lived here all my life.
In Sweden Corduroy is known as Manchester for similar reasons.

It slows the crossing down so they can cross. The newer ones have sensors so you just wave your hand underneath to work it.
