Some people thought Pendlebury wasn't in Salford. It is now.Which is in Swinton/Pendlebury. That wasn't in Salford back then.
That is interesting.This might be interesting....Manchester has a link to Halifax Nova Scotia. In 1939 during the build up to WW2, 100 volunteers from Halifax Nova Scotia enlisted in the Manchester Regiment to fight for King and Country. These brave young men are known as the Halifax Hundred, there's a commemorative plaque in Ashton-under-Lyne to remember them.

I often used to see him pottering outside his house in Mottram.L.S Lowry died in woods hospital Glossop 1976.
