Postcode Lottery / National Lottery

Well that’s 2 on here who know someone who has, or have themselves, won already on the first page so can’t be bad odds.

How many know someone who has won decent on the national lottery.

I have a very good friend who won £1million a couple of years back. To be fair to him, it hasn't changed him at all, apart from now having an excellent investment portfolio!

Who decides which charities are “good”?
Guide dogs, Alzheimers, Cancer, Dementia, institute for the Blind & NSPCC, the list goes on…
On their website, there’s a list of each charity and how much has been paid to them.
So i’m more than happy to contribute

A couple who ran the local newsagent/off licence for years near my Parents house won around £4 million in the early days of the lottery. The shop was shut on the Sunday and didn't reopen until some Pakistani guy bought it months later. Never saw them again.

Where I lived 8 months ago, our street everyone won £14,555. The main jackpot wa as few street away and they won over £1 million. Also a few months back my Aunty won £20k on postcode lottery.

I wasn’t registered but I am now!

Like all non specific major charities now I wouldn't give anything to them.

My only concessions are local hospice shops and the Alzheimer's charity because it's such a shit thing to have and it needs sorting pronto.

The worst thing about the lottery is that people don't pick random numbers and they get trapped in playing the same numbers with the mindset that if they don't do it every week their numbers might come in so they feel they HAVE to.

We now just do the postcode lottery. Strangely when we moved houses Mrs Moon updated our address etc and was told we could run one from our old address too. We've not done that but suppose if they can squeeze extra money out of someone....

As for the main lottery, used to have a syndicate at work 8 lines once a week then twice as the draws expanded....did it until I left work about 10 years ago from inception near enough.,....never better than 4 numbers.

A lady's husband won at work but sent him mental for some time, he'd got the first 5 numbers drawn, missed the 6th but then hit the bonus ball....so close to millions and ended up with a grand or so.

Me Nan won £1500 on five numbers back in the early 2000’s on the National lottery, she was absolutely chuffed to bits, if that was me I’d of been absolutely devastated I didn’t get the sixth! I won’t lie, I’d hate somebody I knew (unless immediate family) to win a big jackpot :) never done the postcode one, but I might going off the success rates on ere, I have a subscription with Omaze, there’s something about winning a big F-off house & a bit of cash, although checking your entry is hard work, don’t know why they make it so difficult, just have a page with the winning entry & yours on
