POTY - Virgil Van Dijk

They've shown that they won't even vote for our players when we win the league with 100 points, 19 points ahead of the second placed team, and there's one stand out player amongst that. Why would they vote for us when there's still a chance that another team might beat us to the title?

The PFA is an award for the best player. What Salah did last season, breaking the record of the likes of Suarez and Ronaldo was amazing. What Man City did to reach 100 points was even better but was more of a collective team effort, whereas we were carried by Salah a lot last season, which is why he won the award.

De Bruyne was MOTM in practically every game he played. Rather than a flat track bully who barely ever scores in the big games.

Obviously he was great, but you can't look past the main man for a team that was so far ahead of anything else we've ever seen in the PL era.

Their defence was shit so he was always going to improve it.

Sterling raised his game to be the best amongst the likes of Aguero, David Silva, KDB etc.

Good shout...which is why he should win YPOTY, unless Bernardo pips him!!

I’m not sure the players care too much about these awards too much. Filed under “nice, but not the PL trophy” for most.

Dippers are definitely progressing as a team, with their own record points total for a season already, and with their defensive record it was bound to happen.

However, I feel like the agenda is set by the media and who they pick out as their darling for the year. Last year, it was Salah, this year it was VVD. Sterling didn’t get a look in until his off field persona was heralded, then people started praising his game, his attitude and then he scored for England, hat trick, and Bob’s yer uncle!

I’ll bet anyone that every single player in the PL would rather win club trophies, especially the PL, than individual honours.

Raheem has a chance at doing the domestic treble. I doubt he is losing sleep over the POTY award.
