The more I watch Laporte the more I cant help thinking he is the best centre half in the premier and I can’t wonder why people rave about Van thingy. Of course Eric just goes about his business very quietly without any fuss and without Pep and the media going on and on about how great he is every five minutes

It has got to be Sterling for me. VD has been a good centre back who has made a difference to Liverpool but Sterling’s stats, general play and contribution to City and the national side have been enormous and he is English! I would like the pundits try to explain away VD winning POTY and one or two city players ranking higher in UEFA and FIFA European and World Player rankings whenever they come out.

It will be VVD, just based on logic. If you’re voting for a city player, you could reasonably vote for Raheem, Sergio, Bernardo or Aymeric. If you vote for a Liverpool player, just like last season, there is only one player to vote for.

I especially liked it when Merson said he couldn’t understand why Klopp played with defensive, holding midfielders when, because they had such a good defence, they could be more attacking......

So, when voting for POTY it should be the 4th best player not the best? I think your underlining reason is dipper biase but will the pundits ever acknowledge that? What if we win the quad and Sterling continues to be an integral part of that?

Not necessarily, Salah and Mane are the 2nd and 3rd highest scorers in the league respectively. That could see votes being split between those three.
