Hint: It didn't. And frankly the lack of boos/whistling when their team was read out was a shame.

Can't say for sure that it pissed the players off but it certainly wound some of their fans up. It was ultimate disrespect and disinterest; essentially our way of saying we don't give a shit who's in your starting XI.

the poznan gets all the fans buzzin and helps to create a great atmosphere. When we do the poznan the atmosphere gets better

Not just you, no.

BUT. Every local rival boos/jeers/whistles their opponents' lineup. The players expect it and are used to it. The Poznan is different.

If Poznaning takes United's eye off the game for a split second, disrupts focus or whatever, it's well worth doing.

We have to do the Poznan! One of the greatest sights I have seen in football was the Poznan at Wembley when we played United.
