Hi blabkrak,
kave you any links / tips for cheap hotels in Poznan?
Cheers

try Trip Advisor web site and it will search loads like Hotels.com. Aim for one near Old Town for beer action and use maps and reviews to narrow down to chose. City Guest House is booked up, liked the name but no joy!

http://www.booking.com and type in Poznan, look for Don Prestige

Not the cheapest but as it's a suite it has two beds and a sofa and is in the old town.

-- Sun Sep 05, 2010 5:15 pm --

Some good prices on there, hotels from £33 although i'm not sure if you get a bed in your room at that price ;)

Anyone know what the rail system is like in Poland - i.e. is it reliable? We could have a fair way to go on the Friday to get our flight home.

If you have more time than money then maybe Eurolines is the answer. This is the response from an email to them....

Thank you for your email.

At the moment, the journeys would not be possible as the European timetables are yet to be confirmed. We hope to have confirmation by early October. The journeys would normally involve a change in London. In the meantime, you can take a look at some of the current timings online by using the journey planner at www.eurolines.co.uk Do not type in Manchester but London as your starting point otherwise the timings may not show due to the connections.

I hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you require further information.

Sincerely, Support Staff

I have done this route years ago but only from Amsterdam to Warsaw. I don't remember the journey being too bad.

Haha, we went for a slightly dearer one, it was about £60 i think, 3 star so its not bad. Doing a night in poznan and one in berlin all booked we could only go on thursday morning because of my dads holidays from work, bring it on and get me in with this lot:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOIqy1mxXaU

If you want cheap, try www.hostels.com, we're paying less than £14 in Poznan & just over £10 in Berlin - both include breakfast. From prior experience, it's just a place to sleep between drinks!!
