Better than Messi was at 17 lmfao, nice joke mate.

That first goal on the compilation is reminiscent of Ibrahimovic's wonder goal in his Ajax days...

Zlatan is a great player, but he was almost 24 when he scored that goal. I think Nasri has also scored one like that at Arsenal and someone else but I can't remember who... Maybe it was Zlatan at Inter or something.

I'm not comparing the two players bru, I'm just stating the two goals were similar. Nasri scored a goal where he dribbled around 3-4 players against Porto in the Champions League. That's probably what you're referring to, however I'd suggest that Nasri goal was more similar to a Carlos Tevez goal vs Stoke, not Ibra's.

-- Fri Aug 09, 2013 3:46 pm --

seems to have more control in dribbling
Messi had the ball glued to his feet aged 8 mate I have no idea what you're talking about. Go find some clips of Messi when he was a youngster and reevaluate your opinion.

Ah right. Yes that was the one.

Here is a direct comparison:

Messi was 17 when he scored this goal. You can sort of get an idea of his ability from his touches, passes and dribbles. Obviously its your opinion, but I still maintain mine. Especially when, as I mentioned in an earlier post, the level of football is advancing and players have to catch up with this it is not as big of a deal as some are making it out to be. Messi was 17 in 2005. Pozo is 17 now in 2013. He still has a lot to learn and a lot to develop.

Pozo and Marcos Lopes really our the future of city.
They could become a sort of xavi/iniesta or silva/nasri type duo. Its obviously too early to say but who knows how good they can become.
The priority has to be keeping them happy and convincing them they will get into the first team at city. In recent times the academy has been a dead end for city due to our current squad quality and mancini's reluctance to properly progress them to the first team.
They need to be played soonish even though they are still young. Just as a late sub, etc

Lopes deserved some encouragement after scoring against Leeds. Youngest ever City goal scorer and does more in 3 minutes than Scott Sinclair did in 14 appearances (mostly off the bench). Instead he was thrown back in the reserves which is the very opposite of the mentality a club that wants to encourage and develop youth. People will say we couldn't risk youth yet watching our senior players look low on confidence, motivation and ideas in Mancini's stagnant attacking setup, a young wild card could have given us something different.

Was against Watford, but i agree 100% with you.

Man City had to battle hard to tempt promising Jose Angel Pozo to England in 2012, with Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez making a last ditch bid to keep him in Spain.

But it proved to no avail and last season – even before a damaging injury ended his year – the 17-year-old's searing pace and eye for goal was already causing backlines tonnes of problems.

Pozo has recently recovered from an ankle ligament operation and is back in training, much to the probable relief of his team-mates. City's youngsters have struggled this season without the star striker and, at time of writing, are 21st in the U21 Premier League. Pozo will hoping to be up and firing again soon and may even feature in Manuel Pellegrini's first team squad in the cups.

Name: Jose Angel Pozo
Date of birth: 15/03/96
Born: Spain
Position: Forward
Club: Manchester City

The nitty gritty:

1) The 17-year-old was snapped up during Roberto Mancini's time in charge at the Etihad as City saw off fierce competition from Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea to get the former Malaga youngster's signature. Pozo was nominated for City's academy player of the year in his first full season and is now an integral part of the Spanish under-17 set up.

2) Pozo played for Real Madrid's youth sides from 11 years old, becoming a prolific goalscorer for his club and the Spanish youth squad. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the youngster became frustrated with a lack of opportunities at the club, leading to his eventual move.

3) The youngster has been touted as a mix of Los Blancos legend Raul and current City star, David Silva. Pozo has got bags of pace and like any Spanish youngster has been schooled in the art of quickfire passing. Despite suffering a damaging injury and facing fierce competition in his position, Pozo is held in high regard at City and could make the first team matchday squad at some stage this season.

4) Just like the clauses written into Oriol Romeu's contract when he moved from Barcelona to Chelsea, Real Madrid are thought to have negotiated a claim giving them first option on Pozo in 2014 or 2015, for a specific, undisclosed amount. However, the agreed price may only be only be triggered if the club agree to sell.

5) Man City could benefit from having two Pozo brothers turning out in the blue shirt in future. Jose's younger brother, Iker, is a central midfielder and also made the move to Manchester from Madrid. But with Iker not even in his teens yet, the possiblity of a sibling combination is some way off for now.

Hype also deflects the pressure off the rest of the team, just look at Ronaldo 3 at U*****.
