Prague

You can buy a 5 day bus/tram/metro ticket from Tourist Information in the Airport. Its open til quite late. Get the 119 bus from the airport to Dejvicka metro and onwards to Prague centre. The ticket is essential for your stay.

Taxi is cheap enough, I think it was 15 Euros.

There are some good and bad restuarants and it depends what you like to eat, the local dishes are ok, but not spectacular.

Like any touristy cities, you'll pay more for drink in the main tourist area's,we drank in the old town square in the afternoon, which is probably a bit dearer than pubs 5-10 minutes walk away.

At night time you want to be heading over to Wencelas Square area for your adult entertainment, you got clubs like Darlings and Atlas that are very popular with stag weekends. You'll get a lot of hassle off the little Gypo, type street urchins, but if you like a bit of rough they'll do the business lol!

Watch out for the taxi drivers, they are fucking mental and nearly killed us a coupe of times.Do take a bit of time to look around though,it's a beautiful City and i'm glad i broke away from our party to have a look around the place.

I'm looking at booking this for Christmas time soonish, or at least the accom! I have never being before, can anyone recommend decent, cheap accom? Ideally more centrally located as only going for a couple of nights, don't want to spend hours travelling.

Anyone been before in December?

That's where i stayed a couple of years ago, less than 5 mins walk to the old town (which is probably better to drink in early doors because the new town/wenceslas square is basically just strip clubs and casinos).

Not far to wenceslas square either, on the main square, there are quite a few good bars, not immiediately obvious tho as they are underground.

I imagine the city would look really beautiful in december.

Picked that hotel purely on the name, but had good service, receptionist even translated some words into czech for a tattoo for me, only 2 of us went but we weregiven a 3 bed apartment with free internet thrown in. Was cheap too. Not sure about the cost now though

We stayed at the Charles bridge hostel. Cheap, clean and in a great location. Booked it through hostelworld.com
