Pre match Discussion Thread City v Villarreal

Re: Pre match City v Villarreal

Even though they are in poor form , I expect a strong performance from them. But we are in tremendous form and will be bringing the big boys back in , so I do see us winning this one by a couple of goals.

-------------------Hart---------------------
Zabaleta---Vinnie K-----Lescott-----Kolarov
------------Milner-------Yaya------------
Nasri-------------Aguero-----------Silva
------------------Dzeko-----------------

I would like to see Milner in there after the performances he has produced so far this year and I think in a big game, the rest of the team should pick itself. I am looking forward to watch Dzeko in particular and how he reacts to being dropped for a couple of games, I hope he re discovers his form after being a bit falt in recent games , because when Dzeko is on fire , he is unbeatable. Strong team that I think will turn over Villareal , especially with their injury problems and just bad form of late.

City 2-0 Villareal Dzeko and Aguero

What time does city square open tomorrow?

Got tickets for South Stand Block 115 for me and my son and looking forward to a cracking night and great atmosphere in the "singing section". Let's lift the roof !!

Does anyone know what the likely attendance will be?

Re: Pre match City v Villarreal

Villereal's start to the season has been poor by their standards, losing key games they should of really won. They have multiple key injuries at the moment and rumours they will be playing a few youngsters tomorrow.
There is no reason for Villereal to start "performing" tomorrow but i hope our determination and current class over shadows them.

My team for tomorrow..

Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Lescott Kolarov
De Jong Milner
Nasri Aguero Silva
Dzeko

I think we should try and win the game by 60mins (which i think we can do with our team compared to their team being put out tomorrow) then start resting players ready for the derby..

Richards, Clichy, Yaya and preferably Milner should be benched ready for Sunday but i think Barry has been a week link in Champions League games so Milner in for me..

If we are winning at 60mins.. i would really contemplate on taking off players such as Aguero and Silva for defensive players and keep the game ticking on our behalf..

Either way i hope we win which i think we shoud do especially with our current form, whats wrong with thinking us getting it lucky 3rd time round.. first 2 games were a good introduction now lets show what we are all about!!! CTID

The atmosphere will be electric tomorrow with us needing a win and being a night game. Rain will put Villarreal off I think. Get there if you can! My dad has a 10 hour shift after the game and he's still going lol

Agreed. Though I would like to get Kompany off as well as Silva if we are up by a couple. I know we don't want to throw anything away, but can you imagine going into the derby without Kompany?

Guesstimate 40k. Could be a bit more if fans go down to ground on match day to buy. Kids for £5 is a bargain.

Some injury news: Marco Ruben and Nilmar, midfielders Javier Camunas and Marcos Senna and defender Angel Lopez are not in Villareal's squad so that's some good news

We need to win this one, no excuses.

Also would be good to see bayern beat Napoli by a few goals. Then hopefully bayern will have qualified before we play them at home

Personally I see no reason why we shouldn't start with Savic and Kolo Toure in central defence. They are plenty good enough against a team likely to be parking the bus. We need Kompany and Lescott fully rested for the derby.

Disagree. This is possibly a more important game than the derby in terms of progressing this season. We whould have the same back line that we played against villa. Except put Zab at the back so Richards will be ready for the derby.
