This is a defining match. Win this one and it tells us that everything has well and truly fallen into place.
Win it comfortably and it tells us that we are clear favourites for the title.
There's only so many times people can say that the opposition failed to turn up.
It might just sink in that perhaps it's us that are making other teams look shit.

Good post, you're not saying it's the end of the world if we lose, but recognising the opportunity to continue the message we're sending out.

Fucking hate playing Everton. I think we will have too much for them but it will be close.

It's early days but the Chelsea result should give us that extra bit of focus and motivation to kick on.

A guy came into the shop earlier demanding to jump the queue because he's in a rush to get to the match. So I asked if he was going to watch City. Turns out he's a United fan and is "hoping to see City get thrashed". Now I know it's not exactly unheard of for neutrals to go to matches but I'd rather sit through a Drying Paint omnibus then go see the scum play.

Anyway I told him he'd have to wait at the back of the queue like everyone else and it was another half hour before he left the shop.

Everton away is never easy and I am sure they will go into this game confident after their performance against Southampton last week, perhaps too confident and it can backfire on them. That does not matter anyway; we have settled on a team, a starting line up that looks balanced and caters for all scenarios. Solid, confident center backs, Sagna playing with determination and honest willingness to perform well, Kolarov looking like the most dangerous full back in Europe attack wise and defensively he has looked better and more comfortable because of the work rate of Sterling tracking back and doubling up on defense. Sterling is one of the most important factors for the strength of this team. Not only does he help Kolarov he also draws attention to himself thereby giving space to Silva, Aguero and Yaya to do their tang!. He is also a constant threat obviously with his ability to take players on and run at the space in behind. Him and Navas, who is also a important aspect of the team tactically and in terms of reliability, work rate and increasing the width of the pitch gives the team a much needed pace and dynamism. Fernandinho has looked one of, if not our best player so far and Yaya has a point to prove. Silva has continued his imperious form from preseason and is unplayable at the moment. Aguero is Aguero.

So a solid, balanced, effective team and even though there is a bit of apprehension because of the venue, I am expecting the team to take the game by the scruff of the neck and dominate everton and perhaps finish with a similar scoreline as the past two weeks. Ultimately the score line does not matter obviously as long as we get the three points.
