Spot on,so I will go for a 2.2 draw (but hope we win 3.0) seriously though as you say Everton seem to raise their game when we roll into town,Everton had a very good win at Southampton so it is going to be another hard game, but then again it is the premier league...

Spot on? Far from it. Not all City fans would agree - we are top of the tree and playing like world beaters. Goodison holds no fear for us. They will be chasing shadows and we'll rip them a new one. I expect a win, and probably a "par" score again - 3-0 for us.

Actually, words ending in -IZE is called Oxford English. It's NOT American. It's just that they choose to spell it -IZE or -IZATION whereas the English have a choice between -ISE and -IZE.

Also, I'm an Everton fan. Absolutely hated City when Mark Hughes was manager. But since he's gone, I don't mind City at all, like most Evertonians. I've noticed that posters were saying how this is 'our cup final'.......Funny..... Liverpool, Man Utd, and Chelsea fans say the exact same thing about Everton. No Everton always raise their game against big teams then lose the next game to teams at the bottom.

Took a course a few years back with a lot of written work and they were fairly insistent on having -IZE, and not -ISE. Forget why now, but there was a reason. Was really hard to do.

Back to the footie:

Just you, or did most Everton fans not like Hughes? Any good reason or was it the Lescott saga? I got the impression Evertonians took a very long time to get over that, past the Hughes era.

Everton did seem to raise their game for the 'big' teams, but I wonder if that was Moyes doing and things have changed somewhat now. I get the impression that much of the mindset/attitude/etc has changed at Goodison recently. Might just be me reading too much into things.

An excellent OP again, even if it was spoilt by the American version of 'Ring-a-ring-rosie' ;)

I agree with whoever posted that if Zab and Clichy are to be given a run out soon then Watford would be the match, keep this back 4 together for Everton.

I would like to know the strengths and weaknesses of Jagielka and Stones to know if its worth giving Bony a start over Aguero. Although, a run of games might do Kun good (I must look up the next few fixtures).

Got to say I can't remember when I was last this confident going into a game against Everton.

A-tishoo! A-tishoo!

That's the version I know aswell, was being lazy and googled the words to paste as was on tablet not computer

Should be same side for me and agree that it's great going into this game with confidence.

Bony has an amazing touch and would be interested to see how we play with Bony playing with Aguero, I'm assuming Navas would be the one to miss out.

Ah, Wikipedia! only thing less reliable is the Daily Star. Oh, and the Sun. And the Mirror. And the Daily Fail of course. And the... err, on second thoughts, let's forget it!

Got a feeling we won't see two strikers again until we're chasing a match. Besides which, according to the OP (but what does he know....), Everton attack down the flanks so we probably need Navas (or similar) to nullify them. That said, the little I've seen of them recently they seem to go down the middle a good bit with Barkley and Miralas (sp). And don't forget Zinadine.

Why I mentioned the strikers originally was that it had been pointed out that Terry/Cahill would struggle with the pace and movement of Kun (as proved to be the case) but would fancy themselves against the physicality of Bony. I was wondering if Bony would have some edge over Jagielka/Stones. That said, Kun has the edge over pretty much everybody.

I was speaking on a more general term about Bony and Aguero as I think they could do some serious damage together.
But it would completely change our shape, might be an option against a lower table side lacking confidence at home though. Kill the game then rest key players; YaYa, Silva, Aguero - all to standing ovations ;)

My analysis of the key points being both left wings wasn't too far wrong for the Chelsea game though ;)

How could be ever forget Zidane!?

Are you as pessimistic about this referee as everyone else?

Another outstanding OP @MadchesterCity. I said before the Chelsea match I'd be happy with 4 points between the two matches and still would be. But if we were to win on Sunday, we'd be sitting at 9 points with Watford home, Palace away (tricky) and West Ham home for the next three.

I'd keep the starting XI exactly the same until Watford, but hope to see Zaba and at least one youngster make an appearance off the bench.

Superstitious about making predictions so I'll keep my mouth shut on that regard. Hope it's just as exciting as the first two of the season!

jagielka is the quickest player in the league btw

I take absolutely no notice of who ref is. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong, but I've never noticed bias as such so can't be bothered thinking about it. An incompetent ref is about the same for both sides. Mostly (if I'm truthful) there's sweet f.a. I can do about it so I just ignore it.

Interesting!! Maybe Bony would be a good choice then, if he's being fed well as Everton's defensive mids aren't all that. Or maybe save him for Watford, they'll still be in 'championship' mode I would have thought.

Perhaps getting ahead of ourselves, but I'd agree with that.
