Maffeo was on the bench v Watford wasn’t he? He wouldn’t be on the bench if he hadn’t been training with the first team since the pre-season and looking capable of doing a job. Would be good to see him get the nod over a senior player out of position, my guess at a senior player out of position would be Navas dropping back or Clichy on the right both of which present issues.

Is Oto right or left footed?

pretty sure he is left footed but a lot of people keep saying he can play right back so certain.

Awesome post @MadchesterCity

Will obviously be a difficult game against a team and manager who enjoy the "big matches" but as long as Pellers can suitably cover for the injuries I can see us continuing our awesome start. Clean sheet to finally go for me though.

1-3

Edit: Why aren't Otamendi and KDB in our team to choose from?

cheers and good spot - now fixed

Obviously, long term injuries aside, let's talk short term niggles. Sagna or Kolarov picking one up is a problem. Any other position and we've got adequate cover, unfortunately we're in a bizarre situation where three out of our four first team full backs are now injured in some way or form. If it was at home I might be looking at giving Maffeo a go however we're away to an inform team with arguably one of the best set of wingers in the league. It's now integral that Navas plays, offering to track back throughout. Who takes up the RB slot is the tricky pick.

Thankfully I'm not the one making the call because I'd probably dump Delph on the right side of the centre midfield, Fernandinho at RB and Navas RW.

@FantasyIreland @squirtyflower, you fellas watch the EDS more than I do, would Maffeo be ready for a 'baptism of fire' of sorts? I think we all know Navas will now be playing the majority of the game to aid that right side.

vinny right back and bring ottamendi in.

Elano can do the job.

it will be Otamendi if Sagna is not fit though personally I'd put Maffeo there with Navas ahead of him (KDB can wait for his debut start).

Thought I had stumbled into the Barcelona match thread?

Do you think we would be discussing the likelihood of how Palace are capable of beating them, Bayern or Real this weekend?

We have absolutely no excuses now as a football club or as a team to be losing to any domestic opposition outside of those who traditionally make up the top eight in this country?

Not about arrogance, but it must surely be about accepting the levels City now operate at?

If we match Palace for desire and application, our players will have created the platform for our better ones to win this game comfortably for us.
