Maffeos been doing really well in the EDS for a couple of years now and he's looked calm and strong in the tackle from the bits I've seen so surely he must start given the situation?

If I was Otamendi I wouldnt exactly relish the idea of making my debut in a new, faster paced league for the biggest club of my career whilst playing out of position. I'd be having flashbacks of the Germans haha

The only other option I could see is possibly Fernandinho or Navas playing RB with Delph or KDB covering their positions higher up the pitch. Bearing in mind Fernandinho and Demichelis also play national matches very close to this match.

The major issue is the traveling the South Americans will have done! I expect both aguero and fdinho on the bench.

Yeah I just seen that Aguero was still with Argentina to play Mexico at 3:30 am tomorrow.
Aguero may miss out (hope not) which would most likely mean Bony, that really could hugely impact the game strategy
I think Nasri misses out if Bony starts and we might see De Bruyne to feed Bony if Sagna fit or Navas to start if Sagna not available as he would provide best cover for right back! Got to hate International football for the impact it has on City! Wouldn't have been so bad had the Brazil and Argentinian friendlies been in Europe but guess it wasn't possible.

Bony down as doubtful but think he would be ready

Calf/Shin Injury A cut to his leg and Aguero's form have kept him out of the side. He may feature after the international break. 12th Sep 15

Otamendi has his work permit afaik.
Sagna could recover.
Maffeo can play there.
Navas or Dinho could do a job there for one match.
Being injured has never stopped Zaba playing before.

Tim Vickery mentioned that about Otamendi before we signed him.

He said that this weakness was his lack of pace and that got found out when Maradona played him at right back in the World Cup in 2010 against Germany.

I always think getting off to a good start is vital for a new player so starting Otamendi in a position he has struggled with in the past against one of the best wingers in the league in Bolasie might not be the best introduction.

The problem is we have nobody else to play there if indeed Sagna is out, I will be very surprised if Pellegrini gives Maffeo the start, it would be too much of a jump in my opinion.

Only one change to the starting lineup from the match against Watford, determined by the severity of the injury to Sagna.

if Sagna starts then KDB starts
elseif Maffeo starts then Navas starts

Sagna's strength as a defender allows us to throw KDB straight into the match without too much worry over KDB's level of defensive effort, not that I think that that is a worry mind. I suspect KDB will be well briefed by Pelle and his teammates as to expectations when we are defending as a team.

If Sagna has to sit out the game I think Pelle will give Maffeo the start if only for the reason that he is much quicker than Oto. For an RB playing against Palace it will be crucial to keep up with play when Palace breaks. Reading the game, positioning and quick feet in the tackle are Oto's strengths from what I have read none of which will serve him against balls over the top or early runs down the channel.

Will most likely depend if Aguero or Bony is leading the line, add to that Nasri is fresh as a fiddle and hasn't played any international football.

Fernandinho and Aguero both play friendlies very late tonight so guessing might not be back in MCR until Thursday or so?

If Bony has recovered from the scratch on his leg I think he will start.

I have got a feeling because of this Delph may come in for Fernandinho and Bony for Aguero.

It isn't looking good going into this Palace game because I think we may end up having to rotate more than were would have liked to.
