Prediction For Season 2010/11

Impossible to say at this point, if Mancini is as defensive as last season in the key games we will finish between 4th and 7th. If he is more positive and the new foreigners gel we could get 2nd or 3rd. If United keep a steady back 4 I think they are favourites ahead of Chelsea. Honest thoughts and I am not a RAG.

If we get 6 points from first two games then 1st place
4 points then 2nd place
less than 3 points then 3rd or 4th place
I will be disappointed if we finish below third.
Carling, FA cups and Europa league are also winnable for our squad and getting that swamp banner down
Also more than three corner kicks in whole season to beat the first defender, I can only remember two last season

Not watch many games then? We had the best corner conversion rate in the league last season, we scored from 3 in one game ffs!

My prediction:

United
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal
City
Spurs
Everton

made me laugh that :)

Same mate!
1) No way will we finish 5th this year after the disappointment against Spurs..don't wanna do that again!
2) Liverpool shouldn't get near 3rd with their squad tbh!
3) Ushited 1st? Is that a joke or being serious? Can't under estimate them and rule them out completely but I don't see them finishing 1st tbh..I can see them battling for 2nd at most and still failing at that!

I think we'll come 1st/2nd...depends on how many games we draw this year...if we turn all those draws in the first half of last season into wins and knock down the stupid losses (Hull last year), we'll do amazing!

goosebumps just thinking about it lol. last year i said top 6 and a tropthy, got top 6 and a semi. next year i hope top 4 and a trophy

as fbloke has been telling us now for a few months we have to start believing that our team can achieve great things this season.

we were 3 points of 4th last season in which we had a change of manager numerous injury's and unfortunate events(mainly addy and african nations) all so some bad results that cost us(club record 8 draws on the trot),a squad that was all so very unbalanced in the midfield we all so cost us,so if we take all that into account we underachieved last season imho!

now this coming season we have the new additions and a few more to come and less of the bad luck,a very good manager(all though some still are not sure which is to be expected)clubs around us not looking like they can get players they would like or can afford, the owners going all out to make us one of if not thee best club in the premiership surely optimism must be at its highest!

so with blue tinted glasses on my prediction is top 3,semis/final Europa cup,Carling cup winners,fa cup semis.

I'm expecting us to challenge for the title. I don't think we will a cup, though we might come close.

I'm confident we will get into the top 3 in the league. we might even win it.

I don't think we've bought enough quality players to be challenging for top 3. The squad was threadbare at times last season, and we've not gone overboard in strengthening our weaknesses. Still don't have one decent left back!

-- Tue Jul 20, 2010 11:43 pm --

You don't strengthen weaknesses, but I'm sure you get my point.

This time last year, most Bluemooners were predicting a 5-7th finish, myself included. In addition we reached the semi-final of the Carling Cup. So what about this coming season? Yes, I know transfer activity is still on-going but you must have some idea of how we will perform. With Essien back for Chelski, I fancy them to retain the championship. We will be battling it out with the Rags, Gooners and Spuds for the Champions League places. I will be content with 3rd place and automatic qualification, preferably above the Rags. At least one cup final appearance would be nice too. How about you guys? Please be realistic as it may take several months for our new squad to gel.

Without a Rooney or a Drogba or a Fabregas then i cant see above 4th. Lets also remember that Murderpool by all regards were shite - Hodgson will have them more compact - 4th is the best i think we are likely to get.
