prem league winter break

I would be for it.

I would also be for any clubs in Europe not being involved in the league cup.

I would also be for no replays in FA cup

I would also be for reducing the league to 18 clubs

I would also be for the season being March to December with the final game on New Year’s Day.

I don’t think many of those are likely though.

I would be for anything that improved the current situation. However, just having a winter break needs some serious consideration. Working on the premise that one of the benefits of a break could benefit the National team, I look at the majority of “ world class players” in the prem and most of them are not English, so would question any perceived benefit there.
Also, if there was a break, does that mean the season starts earlier and/or finishes later? This talk of eliminating replays needs to be put into question, e.g. the Copa del Rey is played over two legs throughout the competition, and Spain seem to do alright at the Euros/World cup. There is also the possibility that clubs would arrange friendlies in far off countries to raise some revenue and sell the brand. This would negate any benefits gained in terms of resting the players.
So in conclusion, a break could be beneficial, but would have to be planned/arranged in a very smart way, something, sadly, I do not think is possible in today’s England.

I would say that this would be a 'probability'!

Wouldn't like to sacrifice the xmas fixtures all together but there were miles too many this year. I was on holiday for 10 days over xmas/new year and think i missed four or five games in that time!

Think the idea of the league cup being only for teams not involved in europe is a good idea (could make it seem even more pointless though so there's an argument for binning it off entirely). I suppose teams in europe have the option of submitting purely second string teams if they want to as things stand though, and many do.

Reducing the premier league down to 18 teams is probably for the best.

FA cup replays could go, although I understand why that would face a lot of opposition.

There are too many games in the champions league but there's zero chance of UEFA cutting those back.

As long as we don’t lose the Christmas fixtures. It just wouldn’t be the same. 2 week break just after new year

Copa Del Rey is played midweek so league games are played on weekends, and is only one cup competition whereas England has 2 (and it's far less competitive).

Too many international breaks. Get rid of the first one in the season. Also no replays in the FA Cup 3rd round frees up a midweek for a full Pl schedule
