Premier League Games 11/12/13/14 August 2023

How long before we hear the false narrative that liverpool have dominated the league along with man city for the past 5 -6 years.
3… 2… 1…

“This is going to be an exciting season for the English giants in red. Between them, Liverpool and Manchester City have won 5 of the last 6 Premier League titles and have been Champions Leagues finalists 5 of the last 6 seasons! They’ve also won 7 of the last 10 league cups! They are one of the best clubs in the world! History! Passion! Heavy metal! Blinding teeth! High grass! Heavy wind! Tainted water! Community Shield champions! You’ll Never Walk Alone! Alez, Alez, Alez!!!”

Nice. you missed of course "under klopp this team have won it all"

So is TAA playing the Stones inverted mf role or the standard rb role where he was a liability last season.?

But that's never been what it's about. It's not that the clock stops every time the play is stopped, it's that we regain the time wasted from excessive stoppages from players taking their time over the restart. The logic is that the rules will make themselves obsolete as players get on with it more. It's flawed logic, but that's what's supposed to happen at least. The good thing is they can unofficially abandon it a couple of months into the season and claim that the rules have worked.
Oh, I know, I am just talking about what the rules changes have said, which is the official is now meant to track all stoppages, aggregate, and add that on at the end.

We know they aren’t actually doing that now (nor were the my doing it before the “updated focus” for this season).

Which is why I was pointing it out.

The issue I take is that they almost always declare “improvements” before each season and then either entirely abandon them as soon as they see any pushback from the cash cow clubs or broadcasters, or just do what they have always done: selectively apply them based on the clubs involved and situation at hand.
