funny how VAR doesn't give a penalty against Palace...
I think that this one is a little less contentious as Atkinson is the VAR and he generally doesn’t give too much. Where it’s wrong is that he’s not refereeing the game so Pawson should have gone to the monitor to see what he thought, not accept what Atkinson thought. The danger of VAR highlighted again, if that touch was on Rashford, Mane or Salah they go down and the penalty is 100% being given. Because it’s a Brighton player who was very honest the penalty is not given and the VAR ref absolutely knows there will be no come back whichever way he gives it.

He’ll have to change his name to something more Spanish or Italian sounding.Brighton play very well. Potter a candidate for succeeding Pep one day?
Montoya was too honest for his own good which I like to see but it shouldn’t affect the VAR review. Once again it’s just the opinion of one person who may or may not give two fucks because it’s Brighton but when the Rags and Dippers are involved penalties are almost inevitable once their players have dived at the slightest touch. Its a penalty all day long, on review. I didnt notice on first look - that is why they don’t show it or explain themselves. What would they say ‘yeah it was a foul but he wasn’t fouled *enough* for a penalty”? It’s absurd
